Wasn’t mod management mentioned by devs a couple months ago? Anyone else remember something like that?

Yes, it was mentioned by INRAJ in his JTRey videos. What he said about it was that it wasn't going to happen any time soon.
  • TB changes are nonsense and ruin the strategy of the game mode. We’re a 110+ guild who has been dominating guilds 10mil higher than us. Ties at these tries are from poor Strats.

These random junk incentives are just going to bring the game mode to the largest roster.

Hey, did your matchmaking system that makes us always be the weaker guild. We were able to beat them all before, but now we have to beat the stronger guild and manage around all of these nonsense items that favor the guilds that we shouldn’t have to be matched with in the first place.
  • I really hope you guys are reading this thread, and taking notes on what we the players would like to see implemented. @CG_Kozispoon
    Ooba hutar.
  • While there are obviously a million different things we'd like to see change/improved, every single thing listed here will be a welcome addition.
    Amazing job @CG_Kozispoon @CG_RyDiggs @CG_Carrie @CG_Leviathan, and everyone else!
#CloneHelmets4Life...VICTORY!!!! "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere." The more you tighten your grip, CG/EA, the more whales will slip through your fingers (and go F2P or quit).

Needlessly changing and overcomplicating TW because it ends in a tie 2% of the time is just insane.

Have the devs not read the forums? People love TW. It's by far the best game mode yet. So their response...... Change it. Smh.

This is what happens when smart people out smart themselves.

People tend to get caught up in their own mind that if something is more elaborate it's somehow superior. This is really not the case.

Sometimes you need to step back and find a simple solution that works rather than an elaborate one that makes you look clever.

The standard response to the raid ticket problem was "would you rather we fixed it or work on new content?". I hate to think how much new content was ignored so they could implement Frankenstein's scoring system.

The new scoring system shows they can track toons, including incomplete squads, attempted attacks, successful defences etc. Instead why not just have an invisible counter that tracks the amount of toons used. In the event of a tie, least toons used wins?

There was no point trying to reinvent the wheel when all that was needed were some custom rims.
  • Words can’t express how bitterly disappointed I am with this QoL update!! You’ve not addressed two of the most requested changes by the community - multi sim bronziums and mod management!!
Please stop ignoring us and at least give us some communication on these!! Are they something you’re looking at doing at all? Are they too hard to do? Are you not considering them at all??
Just give us some feedback please!!!!
  • Thanks for the qol updates. These are definitely helpful.

Being able to sim gw is great, big time saver. Will it cost one sim for the whole thing or does each node require a sim so 12 sims total?
  • Well the anticipation for the BIG QOL UPDATE has gone down like a lead balloon surely this is a wind up as reading all the comments shows there is dedicated players that are not happy with this update and I include myself in this and it's an opportunity wasted and ruined if the DEVS ignore the players opinions for the things we actually want to keep us playing

So is that galactic war sim requirement retroactive, or is the assumption that people need to play another half a year to make use of the feature?

The system already counts GW wins, so yeah, it's retroactive
  • Bronze multiple pick?
    Arena slider?
Squad builder W/O having to be in battle?
Unit group search a banner instead of scrolling?
    You missed a few guys

Re-adding the ability to sell gear for credits...
  • Would be great to experience these QOL changes.

But I'm too busy hitting refresh in arena for 30 minutes trying to bring up my intended target....
  • QOL does NOT mean you fixed bugs from 3 years ago. Those should be rolled out as a hot fix. Your QOL is a group of bugs that were either broken at some point previously, or a patch to something that was never beta tested in the first place. QOL means you are making the game easier to manage or for all players. This is just patch notes. And you waited an entire year or more to make these QOL "improvements" to package all your patches in to one large "this is awesome everyone" patch. You carry a lot of wool but either it is too thin or can't cover everyone's eyes. You have completely ignored the customer (the player base) yet again. And this is what I have been waiting for when I heard that everything would be shaken up in February. The simming is great for GW. Swimming for ships challenges should have been there when character challenges started. I could continue to break down the difference between QOL and patches, but I have already spent enough time typing this.
  • Seems lack luster for a QOL update to be honest. The GW thing is good but the territory war change adds an unnecessary level of complexity I think.
  • If there were only 2% ties then yes as prior post stated only change rules to break only ties. Test it out by limiting it to ties only and or upper echelon guilds. Otherwise decent updates but agree feels more “patchy”. But here I am. Still posting. Still going to play. Own worst enemy.

"If less than the max units are brought into combat, 1 additional banner is earned for each empty slot. This is so players are not penalized for attacking with fewer than 5 units."

So basically... we will inevitably come up against a bunch of whales who now have the ability to gain bigger bonuses for clearing out of full defensive teams with 1 or 2 toons each time. This is just another nail in the coffin of what is a great concept but absolutely attrociously executed.

It's the same banner they would have gotten if they'd included another character in there that had survived the battle.

I think you are missing the point. The fact is that they won't have to include a character to earn that additional banner. A lot of players with very high gp can clear territories by themselves by using 2 toons at a time. They will accumulate a large number of banners using just 2 toons per battle, thus earning their guild more banners than perhaps, say a smaller guild fewer or no high gp players who need to use full squads whilst losing toons in battle to earn banners. This new update favours end game players basically.

More to the point, matchmaking remains untouched yet an update to end tie breaks (of which accounted for only 2% of tws) has made tw worse.

There were some QOL updates I like don't get me wrong, but the tw update is horrible and there is still no fix to mod management which I think was the major thing people were looking forward to.
  • Meh... seems a little underwhelming in terms of an update. And is the 150 times to beat GW retroactive or do I have to still auto it through for 6 more months. If the later than it’s an update that goes “live” in August.
  • Lame.

"Hiya Holotable Heroes! We’ve reached the highly anticipated Quality of Life Update! Here are the Version Updates for 2/28/2018"

(CG_Leviathan standing in for Kozi here)

    Quality of Life Improvements

    Raid Tickets (Daily) Fixed:
    • Guild Officers can now rest assured that the Raid Tickets (Daily) leaderboard in Guild Management will consistently be accurate.
    Device Linking:
    • An account on an iOS device can now be linked to an Android device so that it can be played on both devices (same with Android to iOS). This allows players that are changing phones, or have multiple devices, to continue their game progress. This option is available in Settings. Note: Accounts across iOS devices will continue to support linking via Game Center and accounts across Android devices will continue to support linking via Google Play.
    Galactic War Simming:
    • Players that have reached level 85 and completed Galactic War 150 times can now sim Galactic War
    Text Search:
    • When filtering units by category, you can now search via text entry, for example typing “Han” to see all the characters with Han in their name. The search includes all tags set for the character such as “Dark Side” or “Jedi”
    Pre-Battle Filters:
    • Selecting units in the pre-combat screen is now much easier as units can be filtered by category or text.
    Favorite Unit Improvements:
    • Units that are not activated can now be set as a favorite, allowing easy access when seeking shards.
    • Favorited units are now sorted to the top of the character inventory, minimizing the need to select the filter.
    • When viewing gear details, any characters that have been favorited are sorted to the beginning of the characters that need that gear.

    Multi-Sim Ship Challenges:
    • A Multi-Sim button is now available in Ship Challenges once 3 stars has been reached in the final tier of Ship Building Materials, Ship Enhancement Droids, and Ship Ability Materials.
Sim Credit Heist and Training Droid Smuggling Events:
    • Tiers with 3 stars can now be simmed.
    Inbox Message Delete button:
    • All inbox messages that currently only have a “GO” button will now also have a “DELETE” button so the player isn’t forced to press “GO” remove the message. (Ex. Raid Started and “New Guild Orders”.)
    Rearranging Units:
There are a variety of situations where a player’s tall unit (ex. Darth Vader) is obscuring a small unit (ex. Hermit Yoda). This resulted in players being unable to select the obscured unit when an Ally ability allows it (ex. Hera’s Backup Plan ability). To ensure units can always be selected and seen, units will now rearrange based on unit height. The one exception is the leader unit, which will remain in the front. This tech also applies to opponent ships to minimize situations where an opponent's ship can not be targeted (this was primarily an issue on the Capital Ship’s turn).
Zeta Purchase Confirmation: To avoid accidentally upgrading an ability to its Zeta level, a confirmation message will now warn players prior to upgrade.
Shipment Improvements: To significantly reduce the number of required taps when viewing details on a shipment and then choosing to purchase, shipments now show the quantity of gear/shards owned at the top level and the details screen acts as the confirmation.
Last Month Leaderboard: The “Last month’s top 3 guilds” leaderboard has been visually improved
Legal Changes: Added a button linking to a new legal form for German players.

    Territory War Improvements
    • Minimizing Ties: To minimize the chance of a tie and reward players for skill in combat, bonus banners can be earned from successful attacks. Details:
      • All successful attacks earn 5 banners
      • Bonus banners can be earned for defeating the squad/fleet on the first or second attempt
        First Attempt: +10 Banners
        Second Attempt: +5 Banners
      • 1 additional banner can also be earned for each surviving unit
      • If less than the max units are brought into combat, 1 additional banner is earned for each empty slot. This is so players are not penalized for attacking with fewer than 5 units.
      • Banners earned for setting defenses have been increased to compensate for this change and ensure balance in defense and offense. 30 banners for characters and 34 banners for ships.
      • For example, if a player attacks a squad that has not been attacked by any other player, attacks with 5 units, and only loses 2 units, then 18 banners will be earned (5 for win, 10 for first time bonus, and 3 for the surviving units)
    • Defends: The number of times a squad/fleet has defended is recorded on the squad tile and the tile will remain after the squad is defeated. This will help players identify how well their squad is defending and will communicate the potential attempt bonus to attackers.
    • Increasing Defensive Squads for Top Guilds: As top Guilds have so many squads, the average of 4 defensive squads per player isn’t allowing them to fully demonstrate the strength of their rosters. To remedy, the average defensive squads will scale up to ~6 per player if both participants are in the highest active GP tier.
    • New Achievement: A new achievement has been created for Territory War wins. It has 11 levels with achievements at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, and 50 wins. Previous wins will count toward progress.
    • Pre-Battle Squads: Units will no longer be pre-populated in pre-battle for Territory Wars specifically. This is to prevent accidentally entering a battle with the preselected units that typically are not meant to be together.

    See you on the Holotables!

    Original Dev Post

Ok well this is pretty dissapointong for a QoL update. @CG_Kozispoon @CG_Leviathan some of the stuff in this update is nice, like the simming and raid tickets but hardly a massive QoL upgrade. I have to say, you and the mods have preached how you’ve been reading the forums and are listening to us, but you’ve ignored the most requested QoL updates that anyone whose paid a little attention to the forums can see:

    1.) Mod Management:

This is one has been requested and suggested now for months. There’s no reason that at this point there hasn’t been some sort of management tool implemented to better organize mods given all the shuffling that we have to do. Heck, it’s a simple implication. Make that feature like the saved squads. There’s absolutely no reason that this isn’t being pushed out and is a massive fail on your guys part.

    2.) Multiple Bronzonium Packs:

Another feature that’s been being asked for since before the first QoL update. It is a ridiculous grind to sit there tapping the screen for hours trying to spend the stockpiles of ally points we have. People have hundreds of thousands, some even millions because they don’t want to bother opening one at a time. Add an option to open 1,10 and 20 at a time just like you have different chromium options. Or make it a simple slider feature like how you sim PVE battles, up to 20 Spins. Another update where there’s ZERO reason that this isn’t being implemented.

3.) GW, Shard Shop, Cantina Shop shuffling

This is something else the community has been clamoring for. It’s not so much that we want the brand new toons to go immediately there (well I do so long as brand new marquee toons drop into platoons right away....) but shuffle the shards up every so often. Heck it can be every two weeks or even every months. Long time players have all the characters and just have currency stockpiling for shard shop currency or in hope we may get some sort of shuffling in there. Honestly guys this isn’t unfair when people have hordes of currency stored for each one of these shops.

All in all I have to say this QoL is nothing special. Some nice updates like with the GW simming, raid tickets and text search, but overall nothing special. Even the TW update is falling flat. It’s too intricate. All that needed to be done is award a banner for a successful defense by a unit. That’ll break the tie and put more of a focus on defense to balance the battles.

Hopefully you guys read this thread and implement some of these changes that everyone on here is asking for. There’s plenty of time between now and the 28th.

Big let down. The TW stuff is way over the top, you're trying to do too much for a non-issue. Want to break ties? Track successful defends, if there's a tie at the end more successful defends wins; simple and effective. Awarding extra banners that require a degree in mathematics to sort out is exactly the opposite of quality of life. Want QOL for TW? Fix the match making system.

Why can't I select arena opponents, what purpose does 5 minutes of refreshing serve?

    Why can't I manage mods?

Why can't I manage squads without trying to enter combat?

I like the new sim options.

    Why can't I multi-sim bronzniums?

    Shard shops need an update.

Filters in squad selection are nice, text search isn't very necessary.

Why doesn't guild chat show star/gear level notifications? (bug fix; not QOL)

Bug fixes are not QOL; they are bug fixes.

Ever seen swgoh.gg? That single site is more useful than anything in the game; TB would be close to impossible to coordinate without that website. Why do we need a 3rd party website to play this game? Hire those guys.

Y'all claim to read the forums, but you're clearly out of touch with the majority of your player base on these items.

I'm sure we'll see a slew of videos from your "game changers" praising this update, it's a shame you canned the only one who dared speak his mind and the truth about how he felt.
  • This doesn’t even deserve to be called a QoL update. The fact that it was compared to last year’s major QoL update is a travesty. GW simmable is meh, and nothing else there is worth note.

The TW “fix” is insanity, you guys are completely changing TW scoring and strategy to solve a problem that doesn’t actually exist.
  • So you made a Territory War tie breaker update, and called it a Quality of Life. Underwhelming to say the least.
  • Must be a bunch of horses in here with all the neigh saying going on. At least the game actually gets updated.

Ditto. I appreciate the changes incoming. We know they’ll keep improving and we may even see a shard shuffle or Bronzium multi-draw in the next update (not necessarily a QOL update).
  • Nothing about mods management, or increased maximum number in storage? Bronzium multi-draw is also much needed. Not complaining about what IS there, just disappointed about what is missing.
I am the Tard of Tards
  • Personally I just wanted slider sim for bronzium...could really care less about the other stuff. Pretty disappointed

What I would like to know is are ties still a major problem for TW, 2% doesn't seem unreasonable? I know that for our guild the first 2-3 TW ended as ties, but that was because we were still learning strategies. Since then we have now won 5 TW's in a row. I can only hope that CG goes back to look at the data to see if this really is a necessary change for TW at this point.
