Converting to the Dark Side

Hey guys just curious on the community's opinion. Is it worth it for me to change over my arena team to the palp meta? I usually get into the top 100 by payout running Rex, CLS, R2, Thrawn and Finn
I'd likely switch to palp Vader Thrawn nihilus and maybe sith trooper
Here's my swgoh: https://swgoh.gg/u/celley/

    Yes, go DS
  • Should gear up raid Han and old ben, replace r2 and Finn, my logic is that you do not have zetas on EP, vader or nihilus or sion, and by time you get those 3 to gear 12 plus 2 more (whether sion g11, or SiT to g12) and farm the zetas (assuming you don't have materials saved for 5 zetas) by time you get there, who knows the EP meta may have some big counter already
  • I've got 3 zetas in the bank if that changes anything
  • I'd ditch fin and r2. Put in dn and old ben see how that goes. Metas generally don't last that long. If you can't get in early normally it doesn't pay to follow. Everytime I've tried I get there just before the meta shift. Then I'm starting all over again.

I run both teams; it's kinda nice to have options in case you come across a team that your Rex team can't handle as well (typically one with MT is gonna cause the most problems, though they're beatable). I wouldn't hesitate to start working on Sith, it's a fun team (which is important since this is a game after all!) and aren't going anywhere, especially with Traya in play now and being unlocked by a lot of people by summer.

I agree with ProximaB1. In essence, this game is an elaborate version of rock/paper/scissors. With Whales (who'll always be ahead of the curve).
Sith got a lotta love since the beginning of the year. Now, ST Han & Greedo daily login rewards point to some Bounty Hunter love next. Not a guarantee, mind you, but a popular prediction. Which means the next META might be some Zam Wessel/Dengar combo. Maybe followed by a crazy zUgnaught/Lobot synergy. Then Rebels will ascend to META (again).
Palps lead with Vader, Thrawn, TFP, and Tarkin are powerful, and lots of fun to play. They put a hurtin' on your opponent and the animations are so cool!

So, yeah, they can be a wicked damage-hammer, but there will always be a combo that can beat them. But they are a major part of my GW and TW arsenal, so I recommend them for their utility.
  • The thing about chasing the meta is by the time you get there, there's a new meta...

    ;)
