Just curious what others have been going through the last few months. We have been losing people faster than we can replace them. We are now going to be going through a merger which has caused more to flock away.
Yeah we destroyed our old guild, built a new guild, and have since then removed/lost a lot of great players, some we removed because they refused to engage with the raid and some we lost because they couldn't keep up the time commitment and their own lives.

All due to one toon.
We lost a few along the way, but then did a merger about a month back and now just beat our first HSTR yesterday. I'm not sure why a merger would cause you guys to have "more flock away." We lost a couple that didn't communicate and didn't make the heroic guild, but ended up with two complete guilds in the end and have had a very good thing going on.
The majority of our guild has been playing together since before Haat was thing, so we've got a very strong guild culture and loyal group.
Apparently you were not as strongly bonded as the title suggests. Having a common level of ambitions and effort (mindset) within a guild also forms bonds. If members leave in order to do heroic STR, then it seems like there was as a too huge gap between your members with regard to effort and ambitions. If you were strongly bonded, I'm sure the players who left would rather have done heroic STR with you than to leave for another guild. It's all guesses, but maybe you, @HokieFiend, could elaborate a bit and tell us how your preparations for heroic STR were coming along? Did everybody do an effort to prepare? Were members aware of which charactets/teams to develop? Did the members do, what the leadership (and most active/ambitious members) expected them to?

We're mostly fine
