Nice, thanks for that hint! So far I always had to connect my iPhone to my Mac to record via QuickTime. This will be much easier. Can't wait for the public beta.
It's way past time. For some reason Apple has always had an irrational hatred for any type of screen recording for iOS devices, for no reason that I have ever been able to understand.

Think it might have something to do with the fact that iOS seems to forbid one third party app from interacting directly with another third party app. That's the way it has traditionally been anyway. I'm not sure if there's been any change to that policy recently.
It prevents some potential security risks, but also prevents some things that could be desirable like an add-on screen recording app. Basically the only way it could happen is Apple including a screen recorder among iOS's official system apps.

To note, since iOS 9, Apple has allowed in-app screen recording via their developer ReplayKit. However, certain developers chose not to implement the super easy few lines of code. iOS 10 took it to another level and added live streaming:
Anyone else tried this yet with the iOS 11 public beta out now?
I tried it on my iPad but there is a bug that, while the recording looks fine while doing it, in playback it's all in portrait mode. It's a very odd bug condisdering the fact that you can't get it in portrait mode any other way and it remains in landscape mode during the recording. This was the only app that did this. I used the screen recording with several other apps and all played back exactly as they recorded except for SWGOH.
Anybody else found a workaround or reported this as a bug?
iPhone has its own screen recording feature after iOS 11. you can enable screen recording feature through Settings > Control Center > Screen Recording to use the feature.
Another alternative to record screen is mirror your mobile phone to computer firstly, and then use FoneLab screen recorder to record video, audio and more contents on both windows or mac.

This was on the subreddit last week. You're slacking, pal.
