Here's a more recent moment in time ... 2009. I would flip my lid if a local singer whipped out something like this at my favorite watering hole.
Crystal Bowersox covering "Piece of my Heart" by Joplin. Please excuse the super lame applause by the sad gallery at the end. https://youtu.be/ZB2HD7CnUI8

She most certainly has the pipes for it. All she needs is to smoke 10 or 12 packs of cigarettes, and try it again at about 4am. Oh Janis left a high bar on that one.
Last one, maybe. But it answers my original question. This group is made up of mostly kids. Ozzie is smiling big for sure.. The future is going to be interesting.

This stuff reminds my of my dad. He had this on 8-track. Wish he were still around.
Great song, and linked to a good memory. When those feels crowd in on me I read this. I made it to remind myself some things are out of our hands, enjoy what we can, when we can.
When I was out on my own, and living across the country from where I grew up, I heard this song. I called my Dad and told him I loved him.
How about this moment, somewhere around 2001. This is what happens when you've made it big, have some talent, and are free to pursue artistic expression. Love this piece. https://youtu.be/yiKUNehLLqA
Metallica with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra - The Call of Ktulu
When groups collaborate like this with other musicians from other fields of endeavor, we benefit greatly. Metallica stepped away from being "Metal" to being whatever they want to be. And I think it is great!
No words will do this justice. I was blown away. Especially since Tocata 'en Fugue in D Minor is one of my favorites. The original version, was for Pipe Organ I believe. I give you...Sinfonity
Earlier in this thread, I shared this comparison. All Electric Guitars, playing a timeless piece by Bach. Talk about a crossover. When others hear/see this for the first time must they undoubtedly think "Ok cool, wait, what?"
