Ok - hold on a sec...how the hell are these practices “predatory” - can we actually debate this issue like adults for a change?

    The answer is right here...
Most people playing this game are 18+ - we make choices like everything in life.

    Most.

It's those that aren't that will be an issue one day.

How will young people be an issue? Please enlighten me.

Know any casinos that let kids play?

In time many people will be enlightened. Parents think their kids are playing something for children completely unaware of how addictive the payout odds are by design.

I remember when cigarette ads had cartoons...and you could smoke in the doctors office...on a bus..plane. Then the public became enlightened.

Addictions have been happening long before this new generation; spending addictions, drinking addictions, drug addictions, you name it. And as long as hungry companies are around, that will continue. So I guess EA could take partial blame.

When people become aware of the method they might assign more than partial blame.

There should really be a law against this type of exploitation, people with gambling addictions, mental health problems could easily lose all their cash to this game.

I have a gambling addiction, but it's for sports. So hopefully I'm ok.

When you say shards become available in the guild event store, does that mean the standard 400 tokens for 5 shards so it takes a few weeks to get the last 2 stars or 1350 for 5 shards like Wampa so it takes months to get the last stars?

Also requiring 10 7* characters for a 5* character is extremely ridiculous and a huge jump from anything seen before and I think that will discourage more players than it will attract
CLS and JTR both require ten 7* characters. Most likely speculation puts a future Jedi Luke at twenty.

No they each require 5 7* characters and are a 7* unlock
JTR requires 7* Rey, Finn, Han, Chewie, and BB-8. BB-8 requires 5 7* First Order units. That's ten units.

CLS requires 7* Han, Leia, Luke, Ben, and R2. R2 requires 5 7* Empire units. That's ten units. And most players use Phoenix squad to unlock Palpatine, who is their lead to unlock R2, who they use Phoenix to get, meaning they voluntarily get 15 7* units to get CLS.

    Malak requires 12.

Also, most of my chars for those were anywhere from G8-10. I'm getting my KOTOR chars at G11 with no pieces at least and looking at the numbers.

Got to say, of all the trite cliches I thought I’d see (surprised no one said “August.”) I certainly didn’t expect to see “Won’t someone think of the children” brought up....

Summary: Our friend Carrie wants to go on vacation next year to Hawaii, but she wants to be accompanied by her EA colleagues, so she has to raise the prices of everything in the game and get this crap out of the events. Congratulations Lady.

That my friend is a great way to get banned

Go on! Live the freedom of expression!

The first amendment only means you won’t be arrested by the government for your dumb opinion. It doesn’t prevent a private entity from banning you from their property for being a dumb ****.

I hope you have calculated the risk/backlash if this decision wisely.

Was a dolphin spending some cash weekly, then a mini whale when Revan came round the second time and bought my way to Drevan this first time.

You now made my purchase and investment useless. A good slap on the face. Thanks (loads of anger and sarcasm here).

This game is becoming too much for new players. You will lose current player base (few mates quit today)

You have angered your clients, exactly what we are. You probably don't care much, but not seeing a single penny more from me.

  • Cause people here need it to forget things that deserve to be forgotten in ea's busting 18 mill savings account.

I only get this way when somebody drives me nuts.

  • No thanks EA, im getting a hobby thats actually going to bring me joy rather than buy over priced pixels. Bye bye
  • All other arguments aside, I fail to see why a purely individual event warrants unlocking a character in the Guild Event Store. If this were a raid or Territory Battle it would make sense as the entire guild would be involved, but an event that guildmates have no involvement with unlocking a character to be ranked up with currency only gained through guild based activities? 🤔

By my count there should only be 22 people in the whole game who haven't quit so arena shard should be easy and boring.....going to miss all you that say you are quitting.....I'll see you in 3 days when your quitting over something else

    What exactly is this stance?

Har har har I like the game die-ing and people leaving, screw other peoples lives, who cares about anyone but myself, har har har.

Normally I'd say that being for people quitting is a terrible way about things because if enough leave this game dies forever and no one could ever play it again and all your investment is made mute.

But I mean, CG has been so terrible this past week, I'm not so sure anymore.
  • Ok, so this isn’t a complaint about a cash grab. I have the characters “ready” and didn’t need to spend for it. My issue is the difficulty. For the light path, I have my five characters maxed out. All 5 g12 pieces and the zetas. After several attempts, i’m Getting nowhere. Once Malak is into the red, I am incapable of hurting him. It doesn’t help that Mission (the only character that can do damage) is inflicted with fear the whole battle. When she rarely gets a turn it is too little too late. Once I get Malak to the red, he just enraged and wipes the party.

When you have the characters maxed out, you should be able to EASILY beat any event. This is supposed to be a game, not torture. An event being difficult when you are at the minimum requirements makes sense, but this is ridiculous.

Why? Maxing out your characters isn’t enough. Mine are at 100% and I don’t think i’ll Unlock Malak this time around or ever. I can’t improve my characters any more than they are, so it’s just a matter of banging my head against the wall until I get lucky. I wish I could spend some money and improve my characters to beat this, but it’s not even an option.

I don't usually complain, but this event is not at all fun. Just insanely difficult, like watching Mobilegamer try to beat the chewie event without paploo, logray, and with undergeared Ewoks, except my team is all G12+ zeta'd, and I used both LS and DS Revans as my arena team (and am obviously using arena mods). Per the event description and logic, I should be ready for this event, but I feel like every painful, tedious run is just another extended prayer to RNGesus. It should be fun and challenging, not nearly impossible. Not much has made me want to rage quit this game, but this event is truly awful. The millions of packs in the stores don't even matter - no amount of gear short of perhaps G13++ is going to make this event beatable by anything other than hundreds of attempts and a string of amazing luck. Tediously trying to roll six Yahtzees in a row is not my idea of a good time, not sure why Devs thought it was an appropriate event in their strategy game.

Update: I finally got him FTP. Had 30k saved before the event, rushed mission and Big Z to G12, finally beat the LS with a full G12, all zeta team after 4 hours of trying. It's really just a prayer to RNGesus over and over again. I did mobile's strategy of ignoring the robots and putting all the jedi to red before killing them all at once with Revan's AOE, put some Armor break on Malak with Big Z, and those were the only deliberate attacks on Malak until the adds were killed. Now I have 22k crystals left to get all of those new gear pieces for Malak. I still hate that the event was just a tedious series of actions hope to hit crits on adds and avoid Zal+Mission criting for the armor shred AoE until all the dice rolled good enough to get the win. Not exactly my idea of a 'skill-tester' - especially considering the short timeframe.

It's so effing slow. kill the 4 pods before malak absorbs them, then i just aim at malak and hit auto. looks like i am about to win every time. but fail
g12 maxed jkr, bindo, bastilla, g10 Zmission and g10 Z-Zbar
  • Is this working as intended? Malak drops below 50%, gets drain life automatically cooled down, uses it (bringing him above 50%), then when I hit him again he drops below 50% so it cools down again, he uses it again, and the process repeats again and again. Outside of the event, it’s only supposed to happen the FIRST TIME he reaches each health threshold. Did you mean for him to have drain life cool down every time? I just watched him use it 4 turns in a row.

    I don't get the complaining.....
If you have both revans, you are already miles ahead of a pot of people so if they made malak easily accessible to everyone who has both then it would be ridiculously unfair for people who don't have any or just one revan. At least this means only a very tiny percentage will have this huge advantage which keeps every one else in the game......
  • 100% no where near for this event and by the comments wont be for like a year or 2 😂
