Upgrading characters

It show I have upgrades for my characters but when I go to upgrade them there is nothing there. It shows 3+ but when I go to do it there is nothing. Can someone explain it to me please.

Unfortunately, the game counts premium content. This counter is always 3+ for me.

the 3+ mean you have more than 3 thing you can upgrade on your character attack & abilities.

I don't see how. There is nothing to upgrade.

Could be there's gear to craft several layers into a piece, or you could train them.
