Rescheduled not removed, there is a difference.

Now now, let's not allow facts and rational thought to get in the way of raging emotions. ;)

Kyno I never write on the forums but honestly a 5 years old baby could handle all the Malak problem really better. I can understand that it was Friday and all that the devs wants was to go home and stay with they’re youporn account or anithing they do in expept for work. but they stopped an event that goes up only 5 times a year ... a lot of people waited for it, i and a lot of other people can’t play it... Others played it and spent money... man rescheduled is a way to say “I don’t care about it” about all people that play and wait and make this game the game that is then don’t try to defend the indefensible if I should do something like that on work I would be fired at the moment I think it.

I don’t like to be so hard but I am very upset for this story

I’m not upset about the recon plan or anything because I expect them to protect their profit center. Obviously the people who already had a 7* Malak are the ones who win in this, because they’re the ones who spent money to get him the first two times he came around. Whatever. What upsets me is that those of us who don’t have him and have spent months and crystals preparing characters for the original schedule now have to wait some as-yet-to-be-determined period of time to try to unlock him. So, not only did I spend crystals on gearing that could have been spent elsewhere, I’m effectively in limbo on gearing up other characters while I wait to see if I need additional gear for the characters in this event. IMO, they should have disabled the event and the GET shards for those who already had Malak unlocked, and immediately reposted the event, so that those who didn’t have him unlocked could at least try to get him. Or they could, you know, give us a timeline of when the event will be rescheduled in a more specific, less-relative, answer than “shortly”. A week? Two weeks? A month? 2020? When a majority of your players don’t have him unlocked yet, I would think you would want to at least pretend like you care about their concerns over the whole ordeal.

If it's any consultation (and I know it really isn't) - the only people that think the "Reconciliation Plan" makes any sense work for CG. Even many 7* Malak owners don't understand why they are getting shard shop currency and no one else is. There is no one "happy" with the way CG has handled their most recent blunder....in a very long list of them.

All of that said, get used to it. If you are a newer player you will quickly learn that just when you think CG couldn't possibly figure out how to make a bad mistake even worse, someone at CG leans over to the guy at the laptop and says "Hold my beer..."
In game name: Lucas Gregory FORMER PLAYER - - - -"Whale blah grump poooop." - Ouchie

    In game guild: TNR Uprising
I beat the REAL T7 Yoda (not the nerfed one) and did so before mods were there to help

Cancelled/Removed in progress and then rescheduled. There’s a difference
  • Either way the community will not be happy
I actually had Malak beat but couldn't finish til I got home then it was pulled
I invested Zetas I was saving up for this event
    Very disappointed

    Hi
Its the first time I bother to register and post on this forum

I've been playing the game for 2 years and spent a lot (too much money and time) to try to get Malak.
I unlocked it this time completing the dark side event. and got 75 extra star shards because of your fault.
I had to move around mods Then I spent on Kyro to gear him up and put zeta on it...

I don't think the "reconciliation" is anyway close to fair.
I'll see how this impacts my account but this is definitely pushing me out of the game.
It also feels quite abusive and a lack of accountability for your mistakes.

You are making developpers of other similar games very happy and killing your game all by yourselves.
Maintaining a game on the long run isn't just about quarterly revenue...

I spent crystals to buy gear so that my toons are ready for the event on time. I could have farmed atleast part of those gear from the stores without spending crystals had the event not been postponed.

Whatever happens, its would be crazy to punish players for a mistake that was made by CG.

I wrote PLAYERS but maybe I should say PAYERS, since this seems the only way CG is considering the consumers engaging in what has become more a revenue generating software than an game.

Even though, they are basic rules when it comes to consumer support and company responsibility that CG seems to simply ignore in the way they are handling this issue.

Personally I'm happy because it gives me time to get my teams up. BUT, yeah I can see certain folks being upset. People I'm sure invested zetas, crystals and real money on an event they thought would be gone in 72 hours. They went all out and then got told, NOPE. As far as removing the unintended crystals, it makes sense but it's going to be a mess. There are so many varied scenarios that it may be impossible to do this fairly. It was stupid the way they set up Malak and GS anyway. "Here's an insane event with ridiculous requirements where if you finish you'll ONLY have a 5 star and then have to farm him in a shop for the remaining 185 shards." But that might be a different argument for a different thread.....

    Don't care.
I got Dark Side finished, this is giving more time to gear up Mission and Zaalbar to finish the Light Side.

Apparently rubbing your last two brain cells together failed to spark an intelligent thought. All you managed was sarcastic condescension. Allow me to clarify for you. The event was removed and rescheduled. Feel free to look up "remove" in any dictionary. Here are a few samples:
    to go away; depart; disappear
to change location, station, or residence
The Malak event did "go away". It also "disappear(ed)". Additionally, it "change(d) location". None of these definitions indicate that a removal is permanent, which seems to be what you are implying.
Perhaps the next time you decide to be pedantic, at least make an effort to be accurate.

Due to the issue above, we will be doing a hotfix shortly to remove Starforge Showdown from being an active event. Once we have resolved the issue we will reschedule the event. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I'd rather it be removed to get it right, as in fully test it to make sure no more underlying bugs exist, then for it to be released again to only have some mysterious bug pop up, further alienating the community.

This is one of those times where patience is a virtue.

They tried that already though to be fair.

Um it’s been what 4 days now since the event was taken down for a second time and CG hasn’t even mentioned the Malak event of given any potential date for its return. Pretty sure that constitutes as being REMOVED for all intents and purposes!

Also a fair opinion. However, they’re further alienating the community by just sweeping it under the rug and not even bothering to address it with the community or update us on the status. They successfully ran this event not once but twice prior to the “mysterious bug”. So really, what changed?!

Really?! Are you ppl like employees of CG that get paid to post this stuff?! The pointisnt the verbiage used! The point is, there’s lots of us that waited and grinded and farmed our donkey’s off to prepare for that event. We were not happy but could deal somewhat with the event being “rescheduled” once. But, this is ridiculous! They’re acting as though everything is business as usual. Meanwhile, their player base is dropping like flies and they clearly just don’t give a fudge!

No, the first time was removed and then rescheduled, the second time was removed, with no reschedule date...
