Refund on wasted gear

I feel that now that the requirements have changed for the Galactic Legends to require relics on all characters involved, I feel we should be given a refund on the G12 and relics we put on the the characters involved and then we can further evaluate whether we want to continue on this path . I have enough other characters to relic instead of worrying about putting relics on 13 characters I have no use for

What lead you believe in the original post that the requirements won't be all r5-7 with a single G12 exception?

Would it have changed your incentive to prepare for the event in any way if it was a G12 BB8 required instead of a r3-5? There was no guarantee in the first place that you won't need to relic RP or Phasma.
  • You're gonna need those for something else down the line
  • GL hasnt even been released yet!!! What are you doing equipping relics already?

that's like putting a non refundable downpayment on a iPhone 12 today. Just buy it in September 2020 when it's available in stores. Paying for it today wont help you get it sooner.
  • But you can use those characters to beat others with now
Why wasn't Cobb Vanth shards a reward for the Krayt Dragon raid? Why wasn't Endor Gear Luke shards a reward for the Speeder Bike raid?
  • Nobody told you to gear everyone up now. You should’ve waited knowing their past practices. The only one to blame for jumping the gun is yourself in this.
  • Im not sure why you guys are so vehemently shunning this guy. What cg have done here is pretty wrong.

Baiting players with a statement like "not everything will need Relics" will definitely cause some players to invest. The company doing a complete 180 on that after giving players enough time to invest in the initial requirements is not ok.

These types of posts have a right to be here. Im pretty disappointed that you guys are in here picking on this guy instead of posting to either tell cg to get their communication right the first time, or worse, stop lying to us in a dirty attempt to squeeze $$.

Cosmic, nobody is shunning him or pretending he doesn’t deserve to post this. I’ll always call out CG when they deserve it and this time is no different. However I cannot show empathy or sympathy when this has been their practice over the last year plus, and have shown no signs of changing. Investing gear already was not the smart choice until everything about the event, it’s requirements and character kits were all out. It was a very risk gamble and he lost the gamble. For the future, hoard and wait unless you plan to spend hundreds on the new events, or in this case; thousands.

Not everything will need relics would have been true even if you needed to take RP to G13 (no relics) and everyone else to r5+.

At this point, investing in any character before knowing all the requirements, or the GL kits for that matter, was at your own risk.

Again I see the same posts blaming people for taking risk and gambling. This is not a casino, it was a dev post saying not all will require relic, in the period when you get prepared for an event.
A hoarder will use his mats to upgrade and relic toons like FOST and FOO even though are not meta just because of the devs post. You lose some mats doing that but in the end not all characters will require those mats. It's called announcement because they announce something with it.
So what now, each announcement should be taken seriously just after 2 weeks? First or second internal meeting?

You guys decide and tell us the losers when we should take this announcements serious.

PS: first post on forum, lurker for over a year. Have TVF on ban for 6 months so I can enjoy the forum. Didn't even interacted with him once.

    Thanks.

    I'm a hoarder.

I don't equip anything until I'm ready to do the event.

Everyone else can do the same. If you choose not to, that's your choice. Dev statements are irrelevant.

Kinda sad that this is true.

Though I don't believe in blaming each other when rubbish like this comes around, that's just redirected frustration.

I don’t agree with TVF often at all but in this case he’s right.

Is the devs “internal review” a terrible move and greedy? Absolutely.

However this isn’t the first time they’ve done something like this and it won’t be the last. The best thing to do is wait until the event drops. Hoard the gear and mats and once the event is live, upgrade and ready your teams.

Unfortunately this game is like a casino because unless you are willing to spend big money, nothing is guaranteed. Therefore you have to increase your chances as best as you can to get what you want without losing key resources or materials in situations like this.

Also when the devs said not all characters would require relics, that was very open ended and could’ve meant that they were only going to have one non relic character. Again, a gamble of their own creation that we are expected to take.

I'm not blaming anyone. I make my choices, same as everyone else. Choices all have consequences.

    Hi,

I do agree with hoarding, been doing it for some time and has been good to me.
But as I have seen the in game communication is very bad I come here on the forum and check the devs announcements.
This is not a house without a house Lord.
I should trust as a client the devs announcements and I do understand projects can get wrong and not work as intended but this is not the case.
The main point for the devs announcements regarding this 2 events was to get us prepared in time. So how am I going to get prepared if today they are announcing some requirements and they give us 2 weeks head start to work on them and then change them.

I do work as a team leader and tasks are things to follow but once I put my team to work on them, I am 100% sure I know all the facts and what I gave them to do is not in vain.

I do not want any refund, this has no impact on me but this is a community based on players.
I cannot play by myself this game, it has no point.

I am sorry for the community for all of it, this should not happen.

    Many thanks.
  • This is why you hoard until the event is actually set in stone. We don't even have kits out yet. CG isn't looking to do players any favors.
  • No one is attacking him... simply pointing out the errors he made by trying to qualify early for something that he cant even qualify for because the details haven't been completely released. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes. As far as devs I'm 100% with TFV absolutely everything a dev says should be treated as nonsense. They have been lying to players for years, doubling back on their promises, and running a bait and switch profit model so if people aren't aware of it by now they must be new to the game or oblivious to the past.

    Hi,

Your assumptions that the devs announcements should not be taken seriously are based on the past actions, your present actions are not determined by your past.
But the so called "early qualification" is based on what the game is showing when you go on the event plus a dev announcement which should be taken seriously. It was not based on a speculation but on what they required in written over the communication platform, forum.

Will you still backup them after they release all requirements give you 2 weeks to start the farm and them remove all requirements and then require new ones? You will be in the same boat cause you wanted to take that "early qualification".

    Just my 2 cents.

    Thanks and all the best.
  • I respect the comments made here about hoarding and CG will be CG so plan for it but I personally feel baited into wasting materials in this case just by the way CG framed GL.

In the past I have always hoarded and waited but with this event it seemed like CG was giving us something new. I hoped with the tiered release announcements that was them giving the entire community the opportunity to prepare in waves so we could enjoy interacting with our investments sooner and all have a 6 month or so goal to chase.

I understand that this game needs kraken fuel to for the 1% to chase but this event seemed like a slow burn for the entire community rather than an elite 2 day event like Malik. The reason I felt this way was the longer tiered release schedule and the announcement that the hard requirements will not include all relic characters.

Knowing now that GL will require all relics I realize GG is not targeting little whales like me with this event so I will change course and go back to hoarding. Putting relics on Finn and JTR is not the end of the world for me since it’s a decent team and useful in raids but now knowing I need relics on every 13ish characters I sure would not have made JTR my 4th Relic 7 yet.

In short CG announced a new event and the framework of requirements. The. gave us a month to chase it before changing the framework with next to no explanation. I can understand why the poster feels like this is a bait and switch and wants a refund.
