It’s been 2 1/2 months in 2020 and still no new content??.....Ship raid??? Death Star raid??? Vehicles??? More original pvp or pve content??? New characters that don’t cost $10,000 to get?? Reworking the 60 characters that are useless and get no use??? Maybe some good discounts on crystal packs??? ANYTHING!

Added tiers to assault battles is irrefutably 'new content'

    No even close.

How many more months do we have to wait before CG provides an encounter tuned for these new GLs?

We already have them. Geo TBs provide this. LS Geo TB gives you a GL tuned encounter from p 2, and DS gives you at least one on p4, though maybe p3 would qualify as well, we'll have to wait and see. After all, that's what they told us from the beginning, that these TBs were being "future proofed" by making them so d*mn hard that even with massive improvements in our rosters, we wouldn't get to a point where they were cakewalks.

Honestly, the GL toons might be amazing, but with LS Geo especially the ability to take down a relic toon in a couple of shots is going to continue to cause people to fail even with GL Rey. Every once in a while the wrong toon will get hit for big damage 2-3 times in a row and be gone. Suddenly the tight synergy becomes shaky, which leaves you taking more turns than you should to finish some droids off, which gives the droids more chances to get 2-3 big hits on the same toon (and there are fewer toons for them to choose from, so more likelihood of picking on the same one of your toons) again. Once you lose two, things will fall apart, as they always do.

Trust me, GL Rey cannot guarantee a squad will go 4/4 on LS Geo on p2-p4. Maybe you'll get it done pretty often. I hope so, since I'm going after Rey for that reason, but it won't be automatic, not for a long, long time.

So, yeah, you've already got your encounter tuned to GL Rey. Don't worry about it.

    [not] even close.

Those tiers absolutely, irrefutably are "new content". Look the words up in a dictionary.

However, they are absolutely, irrefutably not what the community is asking for when they talk about "new content". The problem is that they clearly meet the literal definition of both "new" and "content", so while you might have a point worth listening to if you explained what you want that doesn't include new AB tiers, if you don't provide any definition or explanation of your own, you can't complain that people use the plain meaning of your words that anyone can find in any dictionary.

I'm with people that want more content accessible more often that is less a chore and more "extra things to do when you want them". I've repeatedly proposed something like a weekly version of GW. Play it on any day of the week where things seem slow and you need more to do, but you don't have to play it every day, so that those rare days with major events you're trying to finish (epic confrontations, etc.) don't get overloaded.

With new enemies and the ability to pick both your day and time, it would feel less like a burden and more like a fresh opportunity to use the characters we loved enough to farm and gear.

Yes, that's very different from a new AB tier. But also yes, a new AB tier is still "new" and is still "content".

Instead of complaining that words have meanings, maybe you could take the time to think creatively and add something to the forums about what you would like to see in the game. Even just being specific enough to say, "I want a new raid" is better than denying the new content label to things you don't like because somehow they're magically neither new nor content if they don't happen to bring a smile to you personally.

@MasterSeedy Talking bout the next raid bub.

Okay... but not all encounters are raids, so if you want people to understand you, maybe say what you mean?
  • There's going to be a new style of unlock event for the GLs. We don't know what that looks like. Just because you can't play it doesn't mean it doesn't count; there's absolutely zero reason for any developer to spend time on something new that is trivialized immediately. That's just not smart resource allocation.

    Wrong.
Its just more hard. Nothing New about it.
And the same with TB Geo. Its just a old TB, but more hard.

Sith Raid is just the Pit, but more hard.

SWGOH is just Pong, but more hard.

If you believe this, then you will never get new content not because the game will never get new content, but because you've decided you're going to No True Scotsman any new content we get out of counting.
    Still not a he.

Nope the devs said it isn’t.

Nope. They said it is not 'new' content. Meaning that they understand it's not the type of content players are looking for when players ask for new content. So it is new content, it just isn't 'new' content.

But given that 'new' content is very subjective person to person, if someone wants to make a post about not getting any new content, they really need to be more specific. Case in point above by some claiming that Geo TB is not new content.
  • Dude, have you heard about the hyperdrive bundle? Or visited the store? THE STORE IS ALWAYS FULL OF “NEW CONTENT” .. just use yours or your parents credit card to access all the fun...
  • Well I'm assuming that the GL counts as new content and that any raids, pve levels etc etc will come after that. Not immediately but after they launch this bit they can start launching the next.
  • Do we have to have this same argument every time?
The developers told us that new content is coming early this year, then specifically mentioned that it’s not just these new assault battle tiers but something totally new to the game.

That being the case, when someone posts “hey devs, how is that new content coming along?”, do they really need to specify that they are referring to the new-new content and not just the new assault battle tiers? It seems like a given doesn’t it?

exactly so it isn’t new content like I literally said.
