Don’t forget this game takes place in a casino in a galaxy far far away.
Casinos don’t have much content lol
  • So its almost harder to get SLK to relic level than to get FO faction to relic level 😂😂😂

CG clearly hears the criticism and they need to fix it immediately and respond to the community, or don’t fix it and respond to the community. Either way, CG needs to respond to the community.

They won't. Every time there's a poodoo-storm on the forum, they go full turtle mode.
  • Yea i mean I think for the vast majority of us, grinding awful requirements, the ticket system, not even using the vast majority of the requirements in the event...its all par for the course.

The big disappointment for me is the event itself. Someone earlier in this thread said "why wouldnt they want their game to be fun". After 4 months of hype this rock-paper-scissors event is what we got.

I cant believe they didnt use this opportunity to make this like a mini raid with never-ending rewards; not anything economy breaking, but say you could do these infintely and after you got all the rey shards, depending on tier it would give you, say 5 kyro pieces, or 2-3 g12 finisher pieces; just something to do with your tokens after rey was unlocked (given that you could slowly accumulate them with the 20% drop rate while farming toons or other gear with energy).

This is a glorified marquee event and its sad. And harry potter rock/paper/scissor lol ffs

    FOUR MONTHS???

So now that the event is out, perhaps we can give better feedback? (on more than just requirements). Granted, I don't know if anyone has seen more than 3 tiers at this point in time.

I think there is something to be said, though, about nearly 13k people watching the streams of the event and the general consensus being that it's terrible. The ticket idea is another impossible grind that can't even be overcome by whaling (I never thought I'd see the day), and the duel game mode was a flop.

Hopefully the rest of the event is good, but I don't know if it's possible to make up for it.

Ahnald himself has called this event:
"The biggest disappointment in mobile gaming history."
    lol

  • Everyone on here is complaining about what they came up with in 4 months. It’s waaaay longer than that! 4 months is when they felt comfortable telling us about the event. They have been working on this for substantially longer than 4 months.

They did this knowing full well how it was going to be received, and how much of a grind it is

They didn’t come up with this idea without testing or trying it out yesterday

You know me man I will grind for this for this just like a lot of us will; but dont you feel that after 4 months the event should be...better? (not talking about the requirements, tix system, or any of that)

Everyone is talking about 4 months. Some say it must have been longer.

To me, playing the event, it feels out of those 4 months:

    - They spent 3 months thinking about how to monetize them
    - They spent 3 weeks designing over the top caracters
    - They spent 1 week developing the event

    Here you go, 4 months!
  • Requiring folks to farm tickets just to attempt the tiers is not fun. Doubling the ticket cost for each tier is not fun. No one enjoys that. Plus folks are reporting that if you die your tickets are consumed. So 500-600 energy just for one attempt at tier 1 and all that energy is wasted if you lose. How is that fun?

CG makes tons of money from it by exploiting people’s desire to be good at a “free” (LOLOL) cell phone game. They’re making more money than ever. IE: this is indeed VERY FUN for them.
Also why have folks spend money and time gearing and advancing relic levels on useless toons that can’t be used effectively to beat the event tiers?

Because CG already “invested” (LOLOL) in creating those cruddy characters that NOBODY WANTED ... so CG is forcing you to give them a return ($$$) on their investment.
Shows you really could care less about your player base, krakens like myself included.

They haven’t cared about the player base since about 30 seconds after they first started making a stupid amount of money from this game.

Nobody cares, but I’m going to say this anyway: Just on principle alone, I will NEVER farm or level Rose Tico, or the purple haired lady .. Never. At some point, GL toons will no doubt be required .. I have decided that will be my “time to say goodbye to this lousy game” moment.

At its best, this silly game should be about collecting the characters that you LIKE and mixing them up and playing against your friends.

What CG has created is like this: A popular person at school is having a party .. and telling you that you won’t be invited unless you first go to their dad’s toy store and buy out ALL OF THEIR UNSOLD STOCK of toys that nobody wanted in the first place AT FULL PRICE. Then spend more money to get tickets for a chance to play rock, paper, scissors. If you finally get lucky and succeed, only then, will you be allowed in.

And if it works, (because people do it) then CG makes a ton of money .. and worse: you’ve just given them incentive to repeat the same business model in the future.

So take a stand and DONT DO IT. Feel free to enjoy the game as much as you can, but STOP WASTING MONEY ON IT. Every time you do you just give CG more reasons to come up with crappy events like this.
  • I think the 1v1 thing is the new game mode too....so enjoy!
  • They just wanna get away with money grab and minimal efforts on their side. And they tell all kind of lies. Thats just disgusting....
  • I don't have issues with the insane requirements, it's end game content. I don't issue with tickets neither, it's end game content. Same with the gear needed to get GL up and ready.

I have an issue though with the actual content. Compared to Epic confrontations, this looks boring; so the reward is only the character and not the content, which is just sad.

I really hope Tier 4-6 are fun and/or require some strategy and decision making; if not, well... too bad then, it could have been epic.

From an "engaging content" point of vue, players will chase the event to get the uber-characters anyway, so you didn't need to make this event epic. But it would have been a pretty nice touch.

As an overly optimist guy, I still hope you were too busy working on the new content that will come up in a few months (weeks ?) as advertised in the previous Q&A, as this content will be available to everyone and not the tip of the spear only. But please hurry before the riot ;)

That’s a scary thought. Screams of extreme incompetence or at the very least apathy toward the player base.

I imagine the same thing will happen that always happens: everyone will complain, a lot, and then go ahead and do the grind anyway because they don't want to quit this supposedly-terrible game.

Of course, it’s the best Star Wars mobile game on the market. People have also invested a lot of time and/or money into this game, which makes it even harder to walk away from. That fact is actually one of the driving factors for development decisions.

People can love the game and still have complaints or issues with development decisions. It’s not black and white, take it or leave it.

They can complain without threatening to quit or saying worst game ever day after day.

It is, though. Everyone will whine but they'll do the grind anyway. The devs will see everyone doing the event in their metrics and interpret that to mean that the event is great for engagement, and churn out more of the same.

The only way it changes is if people don't play the event, which won't happen.

Also, you know the poodoo has hit the fan when not even the usual suspects are defending this mess.

Have you ever heard the story of Homer and the Bear Patrol?

You do understand that Tiers 1-3 is all you get? There is now 4-6. Since you can unlock it from repeating 1-3 over and over and over.

What? You need to do tiers 4-6 for the ultimate ability mats. What are you talking about?

I don’t disagree with most of that. It seems to me that you are now and usually suggesting that people can’t complain about anything in the game and still play it.

A lot less people than you think will even qualify for this event in the next couple months even.

I never said people couldn't complain, it's just stupid to imagine that it actually accomplishes anything. Anyone who thinks posting angry threads makes a single iota of difference to the devs is delusional.
