Spy Can 1-Shot Rey Before Her Team Moves - WAI?

1:20 into the video. 300k shot. The player’s team is crud other than Spy. Is this WAI? Did CG intend for Spy to be able to do this out of the gate? Debate!

    He did it not out of the gate but with certain circumstances: he needs stealth and status effects on both.

    It's WAI but most likely not expected by the devs, hotfix coming I guess (nerfing Spy or adding smth to Rey's kit). Some nice theory crafting there anyway.

    will it be seen this way, or cause changes....only time will tell.

    I see this as a GG nuke team. they didn't change that, so I am hopeful they wont do anything here. the team has a specific setup for a specific purpose. I would also imagine that team can still lose on offense even with taking out those targets first.

    Yeah but now the latest shiny toon is in danger. When JKR was in danger due to Nest they nerfed the bonus protection gain mechanic. When DR was in danger due to Palp's TM gain lead they quickly released Malak and completely shut down the sith TM gain. Now Rey is in danger due to Spy bypassing the dmg immunity thing by simply one shotting her with an absurdly high dmg hit. Chances are high there will be smth coming up.

    if these are the mods used in this vid I am not sure it will work on a propper modded resistance team.

    No. She’s still a beast. If they change it, whatever, but considering that any Rey or GAS team could beat that on D, there’s really not that much of a threat.

    Plenty of characters can hit for over 100k and well into million. Why not him ?
  • Just put Malak on your Rey team to counter sith. Also for spy, pretaunts are key. Don’t think they should nerf this, as Rey will only be getting stronger as people find her a better comp and her ult unlocks...
  • If you look carefully at the turn order, you can see that Dooku goes right after GL Rey, before RH Finn. That seems to be a crucial part of the plan, as Dooku needs to feed TM to make the team all go before the opponent (except for Rey of course).

    Now, Dooku's base speed is 187. Finn's is 183 and he gets another 30 from Rey lead. Does it seem to you like a reliable counter, given that you only need to mod Finn to not be more than 26 speed slower than Dooku?

  • If you look carefully at the turn order, you can see that Dooku goes right after GL Rey, before RH Finn. That seems to be a crucial part of the plan, as Dooku needs to feed TM to make the team all go before the opponent (except for Rey of course).

    TM tech also gives armor penetration for Spy and Jango reduces max health on debuffed enemies. Without these two factors the team likely wouldn't work.

    A 310 speed CLS team with a r7 Han also steamrolls a DR team that has a speed below 250. Doesn't mean it's not WAI.
