Unique wording should mean that if they have Guard from Chewbacca, they perform any ability on their turn, Chewbacca Guard assists, and since Chewbacca used an ability, they would then basic assist -30%, if I am reading that right.
so let me get this straight if im doing the military might assault battle with my gear 13 relic 7 6dot modded commander luke Skywalker the additional 20% to other rebel allies and the 40% for chewie and C3P0 only lasts for the first battle? why not make it for every battle there are 8 battles in assault battles are there not?
@CG_SBCrumb Why no scoundrel tag? Every variation of Chewy that’s in the game has a scoundrel tag. Just like every variation of Han has a scoundrel tag. You’re going to start breaking that tradition now?

It sounds like they only receive the bonus on the first wave and it carries over to the following waves. Basically it doesn't stack each wave
And in every version previous when they wanted to say that they said "At the start of battle" instead of "At the start of the first encounter". Either they're clumsy, which is entirely possible and in fact likely, or it will only last for one wave. The specification of "first" is just weird.

Why would it be an oversight? Chewie isn't a scoundrel in ESB.
Notice that STHan and CapHan don't have the scoundrel tag, either.
