maybe i can get a yellow banner on my posts for being the official swgoh discord admin or some other made up position
  • Hey Doja,

It’s great to see you active on this forum but it would be great if you and/or crumb would be active on other platforms. One being discord where a large percentage of players are on and would love do connect with other people as well as devs. Or if you guys would interact or with content creators such as Cubs or Ahnald who can reach larger audiences. Or at the very least it would by nice if we could get a weekly or bi weekly update just to know what’s going on with the game. I hope you listen to the community’s feedback and good luck on your new position.

Also 501st is the best faction.

Love these suggestions! While, of course, I'd love to have a chance to interact with CG again- I'm much more concerned about the communication improving overall. I'd love to see them work with Hynesy, Ian, Gridan and several others who weren't in the spotlight during the original Game Changers program. The discord suggestion in particular would be SO great to see... so much of this community LIVES on Discord.

    Great suggestions right here!

One question CG_Doja_Fett, are you still a Game Balance Specialist?

Although I am late to the party on this megthread, Doja, I personally would like to say thank you for responding to this thread and welcome to the team.

I am also known as Paul Anthony, one of the co-hosts of The Escape Pod... cast. We are excited to have you aboard and I would like to echo what some of my other fellow content creators have said and mention we would LOVE to have you come on our shows. We, are a long form program full of punditry and would jump at the chance to pick your brain, especially regarding your former title of Game Balance Specialist. That right there sounds like an amazing topic that I was just pondering the other day!

Most of the initial questions that you have answered have made me VERY intrigued and feel that the steps are going in the right direction for what I assume is a successful and positive fulfillment of your role. If Monday morsels is going to be a thing, hit us with a big one later today and let's have some fun!

May the force be with you

  • Hi folks,

    Hello Holotable Heroes,

My very first memory of going to the movie theater was to see a film my older cousin, Mark, had been raving about. He’d talk in this weird, deep, robotic tone while saying things like, “you don’t know the power of the Dark Side,” or in a froggy, gravelly voice with his words jumbled, “strong in the Force, you are.”

None of it made any sense until that day at the movies, when he took me to see Return of the Jedi.
And then it all made sense. Whatever frenzy and passion my cousin had for Star Wars was instantly implanted in me as well. The love of the film and its characters. The buzz of a stirring lightsaber, the distinct whoosh of a TIE Fighter, the loveable chirps and whistles of Artoo, the however-you-describe-it sound of X-Wing lasers firing at enemy targets. And of course, the obligatory beginning of a childhood crush on Princess Leia who, for many of us, was the first embodiment of powerful feminism we had seen on screen. Much like Leia’s strength and resolve, the crush has never wavered.

Fast forward a few years to the holiday season -- the one in which I frantically unwrapped a Nintendo Entertainment System, throwing shreds of paper everywhere...which I was made to later clean up. Half of my friends had owned one for a while and I was at their house after school as much as possible, logging time on Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda or (losing my cool with) Ninja Gaiden. But, the NES I was holding in my hands was MINE.

Now, I had two loves apart from my immediate family: Star Wars and video games.

Not much has changed, except my family has welcomed new members into the ranks, while a few others have passed. If life were a Mandalorian, certainly it would concur with an affirmative, “this is the way.”

All this is my way of saying I’m extremely honored and optimistically excited to be welcomed into the EA family and, particularly, the passionate SWGoH community. Crumb and I will be working together to evolve our approach to community engagement.

For a bit of background, I’ve been playing SWGoH since a few months after it launched and I’ve been working at CG for the better part of the past few years in a different capacity. I’ve been moved to the Comms team because CG has identified a need and are committed to expanding our interaction with our amazing community of players.

There’s a lot of work to do, but we feel the community deserves and wants more. I look forward to the things to come and being here to help as best I can.

    See you on the Holotables!

Youve got a lot of ground to make up for and a huge divide to cross.

We litterally have no real meaningful communication from CG on any level of consistancy.

I hope you start soon because you are almost at a week and im not seeing change yet

@ShaggyB I'm pretty sure if you are not seeing the change in tone and presence that is being presented here at this point, then you will never be happy or see any change they put forth.

i'm not saying this is ground breaking or anything, but you can clearly see the effort. If you are truly looking for a change and want to be a part of it, I would suggest you maybe be supportive of the start we are seeing and keep an eye and thoughts on the future. Not to forget the past, but dont let it hold you down.

Hmmm @CG_Doja_Fett, can check how many of the CG are still currently active?

    Is @CG_RyDiggs @CG_CapGaSP @CG_JohnSalera still around?
  • How often can we expect forum posts? Is that something you’ll handle as well? Does increased information mean we will know what’s going on in the game? I try not to be negative, but I’ve been a devoted whale to this game for 5 years, since launch. And recently, it feels like we the community, have no idea what direction the game is headed or what content is coming. All we’ve got is Ahnlad’s speculation. Again sorry for being negative, just love this game and want to see more meaning fil information.

Increased information? that's a good one. I don't recall original post promising anything other than increased "interactions".

So why do you have a red banner while crumb has a blue banner?

Are you also a developer on the game too?

Good question regarding the red banner. Perhaps, like Anakin, I'm a Sith and don't know it yet?

As far as my role, I am committed to the Community team. So, while I have many duties (some of which are outward facing, some of which are internal), I plan on spending plenty of time acting as a liaison between players and devs, as well as engaging with the community here on the forums (and looking into other forms of engagement as well).

You're telling me this forum rank color code info (https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.starwars.ea.com/discussion/156552/forum-updates) is out-dated/incomplete? World shattered.

I think the point he may be trying to make is that he still works for the same company, so there are going to be similar limitations (unless/until, they can make other changes). so there will be things that do not change as far as what comes from him.

that being said, hopefully now that Crumb has more support we can get back on track of things that seemed to be a good idea and were working before, but started to get shuffled around or left behind.

Things i am expecting (hopeful for) when it comes to information would be regular SoTG and RAs as promised, with the QAs returning. Those do help with the flow of information. if you mean more or beyond that I would expect anything to be regularly given out. Although that doesn't mean he will not do other things, I just wouldn't expect it to be immediate, until they get on a schedule with stuff they have planned.

I am also more hopeful to see just a general Dev presence here, but we will have to see how that plays out, and generally speaking i dont see that as being "informational" towards the future, just more in the here and now.

Ive seen CG want to do communication so many times... it always starts like this and it has always failed.

Im sorry for the new guy, but i need to see massive communication not a drip here and there.

Plain and simple.... No i wont give any benefit of any doubt at this point. Perhaps i will when we get that ocean of content we were told was coming.

Mr fett has inherited a mess. Thats the way it is. You saying i wont be satisfied is essentially the same thing cg did before they gave up communicating with the community.

Not to be harsh, but thats part of the problem. I want to be onboard, but ive been here too many times before. Actions speak louder than words ever will, so lets see him all over the forum.

Lets see him post some threads, perhaps poles and announcements with followup besides this one.

as i said, if you do not see the current changes in tone and presence than there is really no hope. I'm not saying you need to do anything than give him credit for the effort present at this time, which in the last few days from this announcement has been present.

correct, it could change or fall off, but that doesn't change what is happening now, which you seem to be ignoring.

Im sorry for the new guy, but i need to see massive communication not a drip here and there.
i'm not saying this is ground breaking or anything, but you can clearly see the effort. If you are truly looking for a change and want to be a part of it, I would suggest you maybe be supportive of the start we are seeing and keep an eye and thoughts on the future. Not to forget the past, but dont let it hold you down.

Id like to see it outside this thread. Hes doing good in here but i dont care about this thread.

This thread has nothing to do with things like galactic challenges and where they are, road aheads, new content, new character releases, mod 3.0, cheating and the issues there in.... and many other things going on in the game.

Almost a week in.... jump in (or out of this thread).

    Hi folks,

I’m excited to announce a new addition to the Galaxy of Heroes Community team! CG_Doja_Fett is joining us as a Community Manager who will be focused on engaging the community and increasing our regular interaction with you, the awesome SWGoH Community. I’ll let him introduce himself, so without further ado, please welcome Doja_Fett.

I dont want to speak for him, but I dont think you understand the job he has vs the role in the company he has.

should the CM team be the ones speaking to those things, yes 100% absolutely, that is the job.

can they just come out and either just say things, or force the answers to be given, no thats not their roll in the company.

the CM team is not the one making the decisions and are not in the position to dictate what gets responded to and when, they are the spokes people/lobbyists not the decision makers. I can assure you they do fight/press for things to get done/answered, but that doesn't mean they always "win".

I digress, all i was saying is, maybe give credit where credit is due, and not pound on the guy for not being able to hit the ground running with the authority to run the company how you see fit.

Also, i'm pretty sure he can't fix all the missteps of the past in less than one weeks time.

  • A great start would be to give some idea of what we should expect to see as far as “increased communication”.
Help to set expectations a little bit. As you can see in this thread, there is already a pretty wide range of what people interpret this to mean.

    Agree to disagree.

I dont expect instant change but i do expect him to be present on the forum besides a single thread.

Ultimately id want him to get answers and do much grander things, but not instantly... i just expect him outside here after day 1.

I feel thats about the bare minimum to expect at this point.

I know of this crazy Austalian guy named Hynesy who has a Twitch stream on fridays you would be more than welcome to join in anytime if you require. Would not even need to talk shop, would more be a casual atmosphere where the community gets to know the amazing people who create the game we love.
