There should be a new role called commander, this can be helpful with guild merges because both leaders want to remain as leader. The commander would be able to do same things as leader and once they are promoted to that position, they can't be removed from it unless they leave. What do you guys think?
It isn't, when two guilds want to merge with each other, both current leaders want to remain as leader and sometimes they decide not to merge then, this would help and have both leaders in high ranking if that makes sense

So they both want high ranking, but one of them still gets higher ranking.
Can they both demote people? Can they both edit the guild message in game?

I think a merged guild with two people who can't decide who gets to be leader sounds like a recipe for a short-lived merger ending in an acrimonious split.
