Never watched the cartoons. Stopped at S3 Clone Wars due to lack of time.
With the current directions, I wonder if anyone wishing to be a minimum competitive would invest in omega or any other toon which is not a requirement for a GL or a "worthy" capital ship...

Competitive in arena: bad batch isn’t meta, omega or not. So investing in her if you don’t have a competitive arena team is a bad idea if it’s your goal.
Competitive in gac: it depends of how much investment you’re talking about compared to your actual top X.
About not requirement toon: I think people who have geared up Cat, especially Rey’s owners, are pretty happy with her being geared up.
Well, it is likely to come down to who owns the most GLs...
