Formerly "Best $5 I ever spent..."
Yes, spent. F2P status is tarnished. Why did I spend, and on what? GLRey. At the end (or so I thought), I bought some gems to finish the part just before the LS token part. I thought I was ready to activate, but.. oh well. No worries I now I have her at 330 - activated, 6 zetas applied, and already at g8, almost 9. There where times I felt like saying to h with this. But my officers kept me motivated, and now a former F2P player has his first GL hero. Feels like 4 to 5 months to get this far.. it's a blur lol

If I remember correctly, I bought some gears to speed up SLKR farming back the days because I got so pushed back in HSTR without him. But after that I unlocked Rey and JML completely F2P. Time is all it requires (and sometimes clever resource management). And when getting closer, I had to resist the temptation to get it done for the next gac season
My frist GL took me 17 weeks of hard work (though there were a couple weeks worth of distractions in there, because things do come up) which is about 4 months.
But guess what? My 2nd was quicker, and my 3rd even quicker. This is a game where achieving one hard goal gets you access to new resources, which makes the next similarly hard goal easier to reach. On the one hand, that's why they have to keep making the GL requirements worse and worse, otherwise it would eventually be a 3 to 4 week jobber. On the other, the requirements for your next GL aren't so insane that things don't accelerate. They just don't accelerate quite as much as you might hope.
