If Jabba is ever released, he won't be a GL or Journey character

And there is one simple reason for that: He would be a no-damage unit like C-3PO or Wat. From every single material we have seen in the movies and the cameo in TCW Pilot episode, he was never seen doing anything other than dragging himself across some sand, doing a laugh and making a command. Considering there is legit 0 material for him to use for any combat animations, not to mentions that Hutts physiologically literally can't fight anyhow, it would be downright impossible to give him any abilities that do damage.

If Jabba is ever released into the game, be ready for the likelyhood that he will be a 5 ability Marquee character like Hux.

What about when he whacked C-3PO and knocked him over?

In all seriousness, why couldn't we have a non-damage dealing GL? There's certainly room for him to call assists too. Or even have a summoned Gammo or Weequay.

His ultimate could be an insta-kill where he drops someone into the rancor pit.

The reason why is because if his allies are defeated, he flees the battle. This would need to be balanced by making his abilities OP as all hell OR gate his kit design in a way that makes this incredibly difficult to achieve. A weakness so severe you have to balance it out with an equally severe strength. And that is never a healthy gameplay design. It would make Jabba a coinflip balance case where he is either too OP or too weak, but either way nobody would be happy with him.

That is why no-damage GLs won't ever be a thing as far as I am concerned.

Also, all the current GLs have at least one version of themselves already in SWGoH. Did Jabba ever look different, or have a major character change that would warrant another character of himself in the game? No. So if he does come, it won’t be as a GL.
I've found this whole experience to be very enlightening.

Thank you for evaluating. Your feedback is appreciated.

Again, he doesn't have to flee. He could have a summoned damage dealer. He can drop people into the rancor. He could call an aerial strike from his sail barge like a lot of other characters do. A lot of options here.

Damage dealing summon would still make him flee. See Mon Mothma for examples.

The Rancor Pit fall would basically be just an annihilate, which would be a special ability.

His sail barge has no weaponry that can do anything meaningful. Its primary battle prowess is its manned crew.

These options have to work in a reasonable way for the game's design and be possible for its mechanics. Designing Jabba in a way where he directly deals damage would be way too complicated and a lengthy reach too.

Why would that make him flee? If he is just not programmed to flee he wouldn't. Also he could have a basic that summons a unit as the animation(like B1s special), which then attacks for him. There are plenty solutions for this and them not being used in the game doesn't mean its not possible.

Just because Mon Mothma does doesn't mean he has to.

Also, what about Salacious Crumb jumping off his dias and clawing someone's eyes out (inflicts Blind)? I feel like you just aren't using your imagination.

I was just thinking about this, I just designed a Jabba the Hutt character that sounds familiar to what you are looking for. Well, not a GL, but a journey guide worthy character.
