Why Razor Crest can't inflict marked on opening salvo

I have an opponent I faced 3 times tonight. When his Executor uses the mass assist with HT, XB, and RC, my RC gets inflicted with Breach and marked. When I do it to his RC, it doesn't get Breach, so doesn't get marked.
His Executor is 7* mine is 6*. His RC is g11, mine is r5. Both XBs are r5. What is causing the difference?

I didn't realize the mass assist dispels tenacity up at max level so that's the issue.
Also, I just noticed today that the heal ability now only puts taunts on tanks, not other ships. I have no clue when that happened.
