Missing crystals?

I know there was a notice about Crystal payment, but I think this is different. Trying to use crystals to buy certain gear pieces. I'm certain I had over 1900 crystals and I tried buy something that 1750. When I tried to pay I got a message that said I lacked the funds and somehow now I only had 1300 crystals. This has happened a couple of times now. Please assist. Thanks
