It's an issue when players are sandbagging their rating on purpose to go bully lower level players for more consistent 1st place rewards and just to smurf and troll on lower powered players.
Is this happening on a large scale though? I just don't see it. A player of 5.5 million would be far better off finishing 2nd - 4th every grand arena than sandbagging for a few wins.
I think far more likely is that there are players of 5.5 million not taking GAC seriously or rebelling against the system due to awards being removed from Arena.
I think a lot more of these lopsided GP GAC matches are won by the lower GP player, or are very close.
