Chromium packs or energy refills

So I finally saved up enough crystals for a chromium mega pack, and I opened it up hoping for a little Christmas luck. I ended up getting shards for storm trooper, resistance pilot, nightsister acolyte, geonosian soldier, Biggs, resistance trooper, Ayala secura (only 10), and of course, the ewok scout.

I was thinking I'd be better off using the crystals for energy refills, but how else am I going to get characters like maul, lando and old Ben.

Thoughts?

    Thing is even if you get your desired characters, even if you were willing to spend a fortune to level them up it would still take a lot of luck to do so.

    I justified buying the Force Awakens pack to myself that I'd have loads of crystals to keep me going for a long time. But the crystals were burning a hole in my pocket and I couldn't resist buying a couple of mega packs - then I got absolutely NOTHING from them.

    Looking back, even if I had got the characters I'd been hoping for, I could never have levelled them.

    Same exact thing happened to me, I got one character out of 2 x8 packs, and it was a 2* character too, should've saved the crystals for energy refills, but it's too late now.

    I stopped buying chrome packs a week or so ago. I progressed much faster spending crystals on energy to get gear.

    Energy all the way. Don't buy a single Chromium. What am I going to do with my 4* Lando when everyone else is going to 7*?

    im glad people make these posts to discourage me from buying anything chrome packs. I've had crap luck too, and sometimes I find my self saying "maybe it'll be better this time" and it never is lol. I have enough ewok shards and night sister shards to fill a village

    Yeah I definitely wasn't expecting to get lots of awesome characters, but at least one decent character or set of shards would have been nice. I think I'll definitely spend my crystals on refills now. And who knows, maybe this time next year I'll have enough shards to unlock rey.

    Most people will tell you to get a few mega packs first to build momentum and then focus only on crystals for refills

    Until you get a good roster, which can be accomplished by farming shards, use crystals for energy to level, gear, and farm shards. Be patient.
    After you have a solid upgraded squad or three, I could see saving/using crystals on chromium mega packs to unlock characters but keep your expectations low...lol
    My guess is that pack only characters will eventually become farmable when more new characters are added. Really trying to hold onto $ and crystals for Yoda release...lol

    Yeah I've got an alright team, 6* luminara, 3* fives, 4* dooku, 4* daka (from a bronze pack), 3* phasma

    Might just focus on improving them, fives and phasma seem promising.

    I have opened 2 megapacks got Ben and Lando aswell :pensive:

    yah, I thought what the h*ck I'll splash a few hard-earned crystals on a Chromium gamble and got...
    15 (or so didn't even bother to count) Ewok Scout shards
    I thought he was just a Bronzium character?
    Anyway, I might has well have given the crystals away - the Scout is in the graveyard since L11 and I got a full squad without that waste of space..
    Back to the farm I guess

    It is all luck based and you'll eventually get good characters if you try it more often. One dude here got Maul in a single 350 crystal pack and I pulled Kylo on my 5th chromium 8-pack.
    I earn about 150 free crystals per day so I can afford an 8-pack every 2 weeks with some bonus crystals. Just don't expect top toons every time you spend crystals - that's simply unrealistic.

    When you consider the lottery that is packs, you are better off with the bundles for sure. Even the $100 for the FA bundle is a deal. I bought some like you early on but have to get one hero I was really after (Ben) now I don't even really want him lol.

    Even 500 crystals per day goes a long ways used right.
