Why did they change Advantage!?

Kind of ruined some abilities...

Phasma's team-wide application is now super deadly (100% chance to hit 100% chance to crit).

And others that waste a turn to apply to themselves have now become useless, like FOST.
Before the change, the 2 turns of higher damage were worth losing a turn over, but now you waste a turn just to get a 1-turn crit. Not worth it.

Why did they change advantage completely!? It was fine the way it was....

Do they even test or consider the effect of the changes they do, or do they just figure "hey I'd like to change this thing, so we're doing it. Just because."

I really don't understand the reasoning behind this change....

Your only reasoning is because you felt slightly increased damage over two turns was worth it for FOST, but a single guaranteed crit (if the attack is not dodged) isn't?

Personally, except for Phasma, I felt advantage was fairly useless. You got very little extra damage, so FOST was still screwed. Now, if you land a hit, you are guaranteed a crit. Seems like a vast improvement to me.

probably to keep First Order teams from being too OP.

I like the new advantage, I combo it with QGJ humbling blow, for some huge damage. Each arena match its not uncommon for my team to have Offense up and Advantage Crit at the same time. Makes taking down those RG, Han, Daka teams much easier.
  • I thought it was useless before until I actually looked at the numbers.

At the time, my FOST would deal 700~900 DMG per attack. With advantage he'd deal 1400~1900 DMG per attack. It's pretty obvious that losing a 700-900 atk is well worth the damage gain.

Now you waste a turn to roughly double your attack the next turn... That's pretty useless...

I don't see what's so hard to understand in this.
Do you need help with the math?

Well I don't know what to tell you, it's pretty simple....

2 turns of nearly 2x DMG is worth losing a turn over.
1 turn of nearly 2x DMG is not worth losing a turn over.

    Did that help?

No, but you didn't provide any numbers. You simply spouted a bunch of angry garbage.

My FOST is not leveled enough to use anywhere, so I have no idea what damage he does. In my own experience, the old advantage added very little damage, except for with Phasma, who gained 65% damage. And it's not really a wasted turn, since you still get defense up.

Also, if you got hit twice you lost advantage prior to the 2 turns being up, so you could potentially get zero damage boost.
  • The devs specifically said that with the changes made in the re-tune, advantage was too powerful. They purposely made it weaker to balance it out.

It did not help whatsoever. FOST with advantage would hit around 200 more for 2 turns, whereas a crit would hit for 150% of his damage. Find something else to complain about, this was proven invalid.

  • FOST was a bad example to use because he got new numbers due to the change in advantage, so he already hits a little weaker than he did before.

Nope. I've seen mine do twice the damage with advantage, and even more with a combined crit.

You didn't prove anything, just sounds like you got upset somehow.

  • Before the update, I actually liked FOST more than Fives. After the update, he's ruined. FOST would crit for over 4k on his regular and counters before the update (and hit the enemy with slow just like Fives). Not only does he not hit as hard, he's got like 13,000 health/protection less than Fives now.

I don't exactly see where I hinted at being upset- but whatever floats your boat. I think I would rather take the word of most other forum members over yours.

For me advantage is significantly better now. I run Boba as leader and Greedo with Phasma, Poggle and Foo or ST Han. Greedo with Advantage, Offense Up and +50 crit will hit for 10k easy. Plus Greedo has a 40% chance to attack again when he crits. Rest of the team does 6k crits give or take. ST Han keeps the heat off of my fragile little greenie.
