Galactic War Retreat Bug.

Retreat function in Galactic War is no longer working like it was before the update.

Example:

I killed off 4 out of the 5 enemies on the opposing side, decided to retreat to swap out heroes that didn't need to recover cool-downs in with heroes that did.

Upon re-entering the same battle. All 5 enemies are now back on the board with full health, however on my side the HP of my heroes and their cool-down states had been saved.

Seems like the save states are not working properly when you hit the retreat option in Galactic War, anyone else experiencing this issue?

Edit:
Apparently this is working as intended. They just didn't include the change with the initial patch notes, they had now updated the notes with it. Retreat now just resets the entire fight as if nothing happened.

  • I saw this as well. However, the first time I used retreat, everything worked as expected. It wasn't until the second time that I noticed it.
  • I tried a few more times. It's definitely still happening but not always. Sometimes everything is saved, sometimes only my end. Pretty inconsistent at this point.
  • How do you retreat? lol I just plow through it all.
  • I'm hearing this was intended. If so I think it is very stupid and I'm done spending if it is intentional.

    I do not think that it was intended. It saves progress only some of the time. About half of the time toons that I have killed on the other team stay dead. The other half of the time it resets the level to the beginning where everyone on the opposing team are all alive again.

  • This is a bug not the update. I just returned to my GW that I started last night and tested retreat. It has the issue mentioned above. I have not had the cap increase yet though, so no update for me yet.
  • wow didn't know you could retreat!!! very interesting! (I feel stupid for not knowing this, but will look into tonight when things reset)
  • Twice this morning I retreated from a battle to replace a few knocked out characters, having also knocked out several opponent characters, and then found that both the opponent and my characters had been restored to full hp and all abilities (more than they had going in the first time).

    Then a third time, my characters were still knocked out, but all the opponents resurrected ad had to be ref ought at full strength.

    It killed my run today unfortunately :(

    This is a new bug I'd not seen before.

    Also noticed that the credits received from the Merc event have been dramatically cut & replaced with pure credits rather than mining bots. I understand removing mining bots, they were unnecessary, but the cut in credits is a little 'gotcha'.

    Funny thing is I just won my second Galactic War campaign even with this new feature. I don't know if they made it easier or if I just got lucky.
  • I have noticed this as well.....

    Every time I retreat all toons and my team have full energy or if killed are back.

    This is a huge disadvantage for GW to try and complete if it stays like this
  • Same problem here...AND I leveled up my character from 53 to 54 yet the power is still the same...what a waste of training droids
  • yeah just got the same thing and inconsistent - some dead heroes revived, damage reset etc, sometimes on both sides sometimes on mine only
    And then the next battle it all works normally again (imagine my frustration when I thought I'd just keep reviving FOTP lol)
    Sure it'll be fixed soon (a random revive def not part of GW - it's meant to be a marathon test)
  • Its not a bug just look at the UPDATE POST. They change the retreat function and made this way to prevent people from "crashing the game" to reset their fights. Now rertreat works the same way as crashing the game. So its like they just "delete retreat" and "officialised crash - reset fight system"
  • I posted this in one of the other massive GW threads, but thought it may be more appropriate here.
    I think it is a display issue with the rewards. Every time it stated it gave me tokens, it was always half of what it said, but when I was finished with GW I had the normal 1,200 that I always have. So there is definitely a display issue going on with rewards. What I am not sure of, is whether it's just the tokens or whether it's for the money, shards, etc...

    There seems to be a display issue with token awards. I am not sure if it extends to the other awards.
  • This feature has made Galatic War impossible to complete for me. The last few battles buff up the opposing party to the point they're impossible to beat without replacing defeated characters.

    I've spent money on this game and am utterly disgusted with this update.

    To the game developers, congratulations. You've lost a paying customer. I'm [insert choice expletives] done with this.

    I absolutely could not agree more. It's made it impossible for me as well. GW ****' stupid-hard now. Thanks for ruining the game for yet another paying customer.
  • To further clarify, I encountered Daka in the final GW battle. She self-resurrected EVERY time she was defeated. I entered again and focused on the other team members. She resurrected two of the two I defeated.

    I can take a challenge, but this is an impossible no-win scenario no matter how many characters I have to throw at it. If a defeated toon can keep respawning ad infinituum, there's no way to win.

    I get that the final teams are buffed in GW, but what appears to be a 100% revive chance is ridiculous.
  • Agreed. The retreat mechanic made GW an interesting and tactical part of the game. GW is the most fun part of the game. Pls change it back if not a bug. I've only beat it once so far but its what keeps me playing the game.
  • I am already eyeballing other games, like Marvel Conquest of Champions to replace this one for fun because the latest patch is ridiculous.
  • It's intentional. Read the notes on the latest patch. Retreating works just like force-quitting the game. If you ask me, they took what little strategy there was in GW and threw it out the window.

    They don't want to make the game fun or easy for us. They want us to spend more money. LOL
  • Well at least for me, it ain't happening anymore. I used to spend money on this game but the new patch like Robobob said completely ruins any semblance of strategy left for GW. It was what kept me playing as well, I don't even want to open it up now.

    From what I've seen, they actually upped the credits. At least the third rewarded me 75k in Droids, now its a flat 79.4k.
  • This update is absolutely terrible. Until GW is either fixed to be winnable, or the retreat function is restored I will no longer be making any purchases.

    BTW, by "fixed to be winnable" I mean a set of battles that can be won by employing the right combination of characters for a given battle. i.e. it might not always be best to just use your highest level chars. As it currently stands, the system scales the battle difficulty up every time you make the slightest advance to any of your characters. So having a team of ten lvl 60s is really no better than a team of 5 level 60s.

    What was a fun little game has quickly become another example of cookie-cutter money grabbing development.

  • I dunno I have won more Galactic Wars after the update. Except today when I ran into a team with all 7 stars and I dont have anything higher than 5 yet.
