Gear Levels

Excuse if this has been discussed but is there an easy way to see what level gear a toon has just by looking at an inventory?

I assume it has to do with the border around the picture but I don't know what each means.

I wish they would put a little # somewhere to ,ore easily define them.

The color indicates the general level, so a gray (or is it super light blue?) border is lvl 1-2, blue border is 3-4, green is 5-6, and purple is 7+. I don't know that there's a way to distinguish opponent toons with gear lvl 7 from those with lvl 10 though, other than digging into their stats and maybe trying to compare if you have the same toon.

The borders change dependibg on lvl in color. 7 has a single purple border, 8 has 2 lines around the edge, 9 has a third. Very hard to see most of the time, unfortunately
