One of the largest megathreads ever is currently denouncing gw and the devs idea of a good course of action is to have no plans to change it.

    Figures.

"Mods are upgraded by spending credits to increase the XP of the Mod."

The most unappealing statement in that announcement.

I posted in the wrong thread so I copied it here.

Congrats EA/CG. Your announcement made 3 members of our guild quit. They were all spenders too. Im sure you don't care from these announcements and updates you keep flubbing.

This announcement is why I'm considering turning my guild over to one of the officers and uninstalling the app. It's why I give you 1 start in the marketplace.

This was a very good game two or three months ago, and a great game six months ago. It's pretty rotten now. Too bad the devs do exactly the opposite of what the bulk of the player base aka for at every turn.

I'm giving it a certain amount of time to check it out before I decide if I want to quit or not. I'm leaning towards not giving a **** about arena or anything like that and closing my wallet permanently.
    Meanwhile, down on the farm....
  • So many things are upsetting with this post. Been playing since November but it's clear they are not listening to feedback.
    1. Mods should not cost cantina energy and should their own currency. We should not have to choose between farming toons and mods.
    2. GW is taking longer than ever and the difficulty and time to complete does not match the rewards. of the difficulty stays the rewards should be scaled accordingly
    3. No mention of the credit crunch issue and it appears with mods that the issue will only worsen as we will need spend more crystals on cantina energy
    4. Lastly, mods sounds extremely confusing and the developers should focus and fix the major issues in the game before they introduce new features that no one is requesting

Frankly, i just don't understand why they don't listen to the comunity?!?

They ask for feedback, we give a lot, but seems pointless, they do whatever they want. :(
I really enjoy this game, unfortunately, i don't like at all the path it's going now!
  • Well, I was hoping to earn the Galactic Wars achievement before I died. Please sell this game to a company who will realize they have something valuable and try to make it fun.
  • That's not hate that's my overwhelming urge to take a giant **** on this game

It's ok to keep the current GW difficulty. But they couldn't have at least added some more rewards, or at least scaled the credits to the new difficulty? It's so messed up to make the mode so much harder and not give anymore rewards in return. Remember, if the players are disagreeing, you need to listen!

They want feedback. Obviously they hear it. How else would they always do the opposite?

Not only will they add mods next week, but the following week lvl cap will be increased to 90. Surprise!

Not liking the mod idea, Catina energy not cool. I starting farming anakin because of the new upgrades he got, what am I supposed to do now? Keep farming and fall behind farming mods? Why did you make the mods so confusing? I shouldn't have to read it over again and again trying to understand it. This is a phone game, not a pc game
  • I've gotten most of the characters I wanted from cantina, so I'm cool with chilling on that for a while. Not to say that I won't eventually go back and farm some more, but I've already got a couple characters that I can't improve any further, so having another progression system is a plus in my book.

I hope they've considered the impact that their change to stuns will have on the game. I'm already seeing teams with at least 3 characters who apply stuns, and often apply more than one at a time. Removing the ability to dodge while stunned will only make those characters even more powerful. I'm all for it since I can't stand dodge and I feel like the whole dodge mechanic should be removed from the game. With that said, hopefully arena won't devolve into nothing but stun-locks, which it kind of already has. I guess I need more tenacity now.

One complaint that I'm in full agreement with is that this game takes way too long to play. Between raids, arena battles, GW, challenges, events, and now these new mod battles, there's way too much time required to be able to "do all the things" in this game. It's not really the difficulty level that bothers me, it's just that there's way too much grinding going on.

Seriously, reducing the number of battles required to get some of these rewards would be much appreciated.

Can't believe no one has commented on the most important feature of the update.

"The skip button appears earlier in the pack opening flow
When the flow is complete, there is a button that allows immediately purchasing another pack"

When you want to give them your money, you can do it way faster and easier. Glad this important detail didn't get overlooked in the update. That could have been game breaking.

Mods start. Cantina energy regeneration rate and refresh cost remains unchanged. Credit crunch worsens as mod level upgrades suck us dry even more quickly. Scoundrel event doesn't happen again for another week. Galactic war gets even harder, as high power peeps with laughably easy node 12 (and sometimes node 11!) instead face yet another murderer's row. Broken toons remain broken. F2p becomes a truly second class as mods create p2w domination. Dozens and then hundreds of f2p and even p2w players jump ship.

Still EA marches on as profits soar. The gambling addiction so many of us humans possess will be exploited to no end by in-app purchase mobile games. Married to one of the most iconic franchises ever, this game is unstoppable. No amount of whining, reasoning, or mega-thread ballooning will change one important fact: if a decision makes more money for EA, it is the right decision.

This game is entirely too expensive for any of us to sanely spend ever-increasing prices to change some 0's and 1's. It's digital casino but with zero chances of winning back your money. Solution? Play as f2p from now on. Expect not to win. Build teams you like. Don't worry if you drop in arena. Don't sweat it if you can't finish GW. See a pay-only toon you love? Wait. You can get it eventually. If you don't spend, you won't feel entitled or scammed. The "grind" is enjoyable when you play with the intention of gradual ascension and realize the road is where the pleasure lies, not the ever-distant destination. There is satisfaction in achieving without paying. </rant>

    ^: LOL

In any case, of the most pressing issues has finally been addressed and fixed:

-Stunned toons can no longer Dodge

THANK YOU FOR FINALLY FIXING THIS!!!

CG must've used the idea and concept from my Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes Dodge Simulator to pull his off, haha! ;)

  • Mods sound extremely lack luster and is just a way to patch holes in shoddy character designs while further spreading thin the ability to farm other squads. Finally finish months of gear grinding?! Now you get to grind mods instead of building synergy squads for fun.

GW is a hot mess with rewards that have never scaled with cap increases. Finally listened and made it take less time to only make it much harder shortly after. But there's a marginal increase in credits to come?! Oh boy! Even had to call in Mr. Salera, aka the Soun Doctor, to assure us all that the pain we feel in the posterior region is actually supposed to feel that way and it is what players wanted all along! Sure glad we got someone to tell us what I thought I hated is what I wanted all along.

What could be more fun than facing a bunch of meta squads with maxed gear and abilities in arena after all??? Facing them with no protection or cooldowns, screwy turn meters and gimped RNG of course. Oh and all for rewards that haven't increased in 20 levels.

But if you only spend $3000 then you could unlock more heroes that you won't have gear or credits to actually make useful. It is supposed to be challenging after all. This game is completely designed to factor in no skill, it's all luck of the RNG.

This update has made it blatantly obvious this game is headed downwards. But it's Star Wars, isn't that so cool!?!

Mods- confused, the only things I understand, 1. Same energy used for Cantina characters so someone has complained that have all characters farmed now.... 2. Mods are rare and will be difficult to earn and somehow I cannot accidentally sell them? What does that even mean?

Stun/dodge- how many squads will be all stunners and a brick wall type? I need to Stop gearing all until we figure out what toons are the new winners

I guess I will remain in the 85-110 range in arena.

GW- not worth the effort with the increased level and difficulty. 11 and 12 cost me 25 toons today.
  • Those are the bugs they're working on constantly and listening to feedback for? Visual and interface bugs are things we barely ever complain about yet it's the chunk of the update.

But wait! Its ok! They fixed the one thing we hated the most everybody! DS shards are gonna be red ! Oh finally! I'm ready to start spending for sure!
    What a joke

    Not happy..
We will use cantina energy to get the mods but won't earn cantina credits. Mods should get their own energy, but someone's being too greedy!

Also it mentions a "rarity" of the mods from 1-7, but it seems we will only be able to get rarity 1-2 from the mod battles.
Upgrading them costs credits, and unequipping them costs credits..
They want us to use cantina energy and credits to farm and level common mods, then once we're broke they will launch mods of higher rarity... Blah...

To be clear, EA wants us to use deep squads in GW to win. Fielding a deep squad requires lots of credits. Leveling a character From 60-70 required 2 days of GW. Now leveling one from 70-80 requires 5-6 days of GW. ONE character.

It's ridiculous to require us to have deep squads when our only source of real (non-crystal) credits has NOT increased as the level cap increases.

The issue with GW is it's a major time sink for relatively decreasing rewards. Don't arbitrarily decide I need 25 level 80 characters to make it through GW when it takes forever to get them from 70-80.

And how about regressive reward systems?

Where will tier 4 mods come from? Raids of course. And how will we get them? Raid ranks of course. We will get yet another guild tension creating mechanic where we compete against each other instead of work with each other. High damage should be for bragging rights, not incredibly better rewards.

People are missing the most important part. You can now easily double tap skip and instead accidentally also click buy again. Surprise!
