Character display question
I know the colored ring around toon pics denotes the gear level...purple, blue, etc.
But in two months of playing, I haven't figured out what the tabs on the colored ring mean.
All my purpled toons have six tabs, but some of my blue have two or four tabs, some green toons have zero or two tabs.
Do those tabs actually indicate anything? As best as I can tell, it's not related to abilities, gear or stars.

gear level 3 = green ring + 2 tabs
gear level 4 = blue ring + 2 tabs
gear level 5 = blue ring + 4 tabs
gear level 6 = blue ring + 6 tabs
gear level 7 = purple ring + 6 tabs
Felt like a bit of a noob question, but I just couldn't make the connection.
I love symmetry and even numbers too, but it seems like a weird indicator. One tab per level would have been clearer.
At any rate that will help a bit.
