I've been calling friends in Florida, (where I grew up, and lived from age 13 to 35) telling them to be safe! I went thru Andrew, Hurricanes are some scary stuff.
To any of the players here in the path, get low and be safe, to everyone else the same goes for you. Ya'll be safe now, ya hear!
Just got hit by an arm. However, here is just a tropical storm warning (fl keys).
Live in a floating house so had to secure it a little more than normal. So far alls good but not supposed to get much till later today.
Pulled the boats out of the water yesterday and moved all the plants off the dock on to higher areas.
Great thing about these storms is living on the water they rock you to sleep easily lol.
The storm is keeping the tide high and so far about 18 inches above normal high tide where I'm at. And I did have to bring the parrot inside for a few days lol.

Just tell them to move! Its happened before its going to happen AGAIN, and AGAIN, don't understand the mentality to live where its a danger zone. It's really dumb.
But its their home..
Yeah so? you have 2 feet, probably a car, live some place ELSE that doesn't require you to rebuild your house year after year.. and get the government to bail you out!

Government don't bail me out one bit lol. And its nice getting a new home every 10or so years . also living on a boat has its perks like moving where the storm will do minimal damage. A lot of sailboats tie up deep in the canals to be protected by the trees and to stay away from tidal surge.
And just a bit of useful information to consider.....no matter where you live nature has a way of making it tough at times. Desert......sand storms, plains.......wind.......north......snow/ice.......I think you get the picture;)

And yet people treat them like they don't exist... I have ZERO sympathy for people that get wiped out, and they build in the same spot AGAIN!
Ever heard of insurance?
