i don't even know what the shoretrooper event is, let alone when it will be released.

They revised that statement after the fact, leaving it open to come back. But I find it unlikely to come back any time soon.

The cost is crazy, though. 1500 crystals for likely only 10 shards of Shoretrooper?! Way too expensive.

Only makes sense if you just want to buy a few to unlock him or maybe get him to the next level.

Not that crazy. You get 20 shards minimum per pack, pricing them at 75 cyrstals per shard, which is basically on part with p2p toons in shipments. If you count in the extra stuff you get you're probably down to 50 crystals per shard max. Then consider you can get up to 60 shards, pushing the cost down even further. It's actually pretty close to on par with the aurodium packs.

Yeah, comparing it to Aurodium packs is probably a good comp. I never bought Aurodium packs either so I still view that as expensive, but to each his own.

Pathfinder shards are extremely easy to farm, so they unnecessarily drive up the cost of the pack. The same can be said about the training droids, and to a lesser extent the credits. Shady business tactics by CG once again.

Sure they are. But non p2p toons in shipments (like Chewie shards) are 50 crystals per shard. If you strip away the other stuff down to crystal cost, this puts it well under 50 crystals per shard.

Yeah, with the Credit Heist and Training Droid Heist events being continual now, and Scarif Rebel Pathfinder a VERY cheap farm (8 cantina energy node), I don't see those as being really that valuable.

Only other benefit of getting SRP shards is that he is a pilot with Bistan for the U-Wing, which looks like a decent ship BUT the problem is that you also need to farm Bistan, who doesn't do much for me.
