So... Double Drops, really?

I was pretty pumped at the double drop cantina news as I'm farming Rebels for the Palp event. But it appears myself and most of my guild have noticed a SHARP decrease in the number of drops since they've doubled how many you get for them.

30 battles into Lando, I've had 6 shards, so 3 drops. 30 for Scarif resulted in 8 shards, so 4 in 30. Numerous people are reporting this also. This is MILES below what I was receiving previously, so I'm guessing this is all essentially a gimmick to draw whales into buying the "25% extra crystal packs", to do more cantina and receive what seems to be less shards. My previous average per 30 battles was 8-10 shards for the same characters on the same battle. So they've essentially doubled the shards, then more than halved the drops, making you worse off?

Anyone else noticing this?

  • Not really, I got 90 TFP shards since double drops, using 2 daily refreshes
  • It depends on the node you are farming. The nodes for OB for example seem untouched, getting on average 2 shards per play. TFP, about 1 shard every play. JKA however, maybe 4 shards per 10 runs. Lando's high node in level 5 seems pretty low but his level 1 node has better drops (4 in 8 tries versus 4 in 14 tries).

  • Rng, Nuff said, I've had my own droughts but I'm currently running at around 8-10 shards per refresh since dub drops. Glad my drought ran out at the right time

    Although there isn't really any proof of what the drop rate really is, just speculation, in my opinion

  • Well I unlocked B2 from 0 shards to 80 shards in 2 days so that was nice drops

  • I would agree. I've done 2 refreshes daily trying for old Ben shards, and I've gone from 5/85 to 11/85. That's 3 days worth and I've only got 6 shards from it.

    I disagree. I've refresh twice a day and have gotten 60+ TFP shards and 30+ B2 shards at least. Probably a 3:4 shard to Energy ratio.
  • mee too had the worst luck
    ftp so all crystals are hard haaard earned just did 1x battle full energy and 1x refresh 10x battles each and got 1x shard (2) and 4x shards (2) respectively farming wedge

    my luck always sucks when these double events are on
  • Always RNG... Sometimes its bad and when its good you forget it because you don't complain..

  • Double drops - I don't always get something but when I do it feels great.
  • Yesterday I got a measly 24 shards of 4 refreshes.

  • I found doing 1 sim on double drops nets 2 shards more often than doing 2 sims and usually only netting 2 shards anyway.

  • Can't say anything's wrong, got almost 40 shards in 3 refreshes...
  • Since double drop rate started. I have done 14 crystal refreshes. So that's 140 try's at aayla. 48 shards out of a possible 280 and that's not including the Dailey regen attempts. To say I've gotten bad rng is absurd. If someone datamined the percent drop for each cantina node I bet they aren't the same.

    I guess I have to treat these attempts like slot machines at a casino. Always in favour of the house.

    Except that I I have done great with Aayla. Your hypothesis doesn't hold. It is simply RNG. There are plenty of other things to be upset about in this game. RNG is not one of them.

  • Yeah. The shards may have doubled but the drop rates seem nerfed BIG time.
  • Hmm it really seems a split issue then. That's why I posted here to get a larger opinion base. Although more than half the defenders here are ALL farming the very same character, so is it possible that Tie Fighter Pilot has a naturally higher drop rate? Very odd how several people said theyre having great luck and were all farming the same person.

    I've noticed Jedi and GS farm very well, Lando however has been awful. I'm wondering if perhaps its just the Rebels going slow due to the fact MOST will be farming them for the upcoming event and that is where the money is for EA?

    May be reaching, but the Rogue One pack has already been outed as very shady misadvertisement too.
