With territory war ahead...

Are timeout squads going to come back? For the defensive squads with 7-star GK Zeta barris and all of those toons that cant defeat the other squad but run the timer down for a draw?

You don't even have to stealth the rest intentionally - just run Acolyte and/or Leia both of whom can stealth almost endlessly. Thrown in a little DN action...easy peasy.

You would need acolyte for NZ to not die and they said if you put a character in defense you cant use it in offense, so i would use DN on offense

  • Whales, enjoy your 3 extra zetas.

Honestly, the whole thing is just going to be glorified arena - only longer and more complicated. Still AI controlled defense.

  • We don't have enough info on that. We don't know that there will be a timer. TW looks like it mimics the format of TB except that other players provide the teams you will fight. TB doesn't have a timer. If that is the case a time out team means nothing.

A better strategy is preparing a variety of VERY different teams. As a for instance, you can deal easily with crit based attackers (like the current meta) with a Kenobi/Zarris team. You can use a Nihilus lead Sith team to eat a Kenobi/Zarris team alive with no crits. A Resistance team does huge damage to a Nihilus lead Sith team with exposes doing percent damage to those huge health pools. A Zeta Thrawn lead Empire team can be a pain for Resistance since you give them TM and protection with every debuff. And so on, and so on, and so on.

Now these teams are NOT balanced. There is a "best team" or "meta team". And they would likely plummet in arena. But everything can only be used ONCE. If you put your CLS team on defense you can't use it on offense. If your opponent keeps their CLS team to attack with they have to give you something else to fight.

Players with well developed rosters likely have 20-30 gear 11 toons. (Those that aren't there yet will get there.) That's 4-6 teams. So there will be a total of 200-300 possible teams in a 50 person guild of players like that with an absolute max of 50 CLS teams. And likely a chunk of those will be kept on offense.

If this game mode is well done it could provide a real use for having a wide variety of these teams that can win on offense, but don't hold defensively against the meta. And as rosters grow, and we get more reworks then it will just get more interesting.

I agree. It is time to realize that there are alternatives for the god-teams.
Like R1 with all zetas can be a really solid defensive team, and so on. People will need to use unusual line-ups because they wont be able to just add R2 to all teams.

Expanding the different team compositions players see and use is definitely a focus of TW. We've seen a great deal of tactic in usage of B and C squads that are making game winning combinations.

However, can you maximize your B and C squads more effective than your opponent to maximize their impact?
