Dark Side Geonosis Territory Battle Difficulty & Progression

Hi Holotable Heroes,

We discussed our roll-out plan for the next big update last week, and I want to provide some further context around the new Dark Side Geonosian Territory Battle, which we’re calling Separatist Might. Namely the benefits it provides, how challenging we intend it to be - and for how long-, and what the rewards will look like, so that your Guild can make an informed choice between moving over to Geonosis or remaining on Hoth.

Similar to how the Hoth LSTB and DSTB provided a long-term challenge, we have designed Separatist Might to provide a challenge for a similarly long-time based on the current state of guilds. We do not expect any guilds to be able to complete all 33 stars at the time of launch. Let’s pause for a moment and talk about the value your characters (and roster) get from participating in Territory Battles to set some context around the challenge.

VALUE
One of the main benefits of participating in Separatist Might is that it yields a new currency which can be used to acquire G12 finishers. The evolution your characters make in moving from G12 to G13 is very significant; it affects your character’s base stats and the effect of their equipped mods. This change in your power level may make easier for you to compete in earlier content and will affect your performance in GAC and Squad Arena - the intention is that you’ll acquire this power over time. The currency will also allow you to unlock new characters (that we’re not ready to announce just yet).

PROGRESSION
Let’s be clear from the outset: unlike Hoth, which some Guilds were able to fully complete at the outset, you are not expected to be able to fully complete Separatist Might at this time. In addition to growing your roster over time, there will also be opportunities for guilds to theorycraft innovative strategies, new characters that will come to the holotables that’ll provide different dynamics, as well as other gamewide changes that’ll assist in helping your guild “complete” the Territory Battle.

WORD OF WARNING
In talking with the Beta players, they raised a number of good points about the difficulty tuning and so while these are projections and your experience may vary, we’d like to share the following words of warning with you:
  1. Guilds that have less than 80M GP do not qualify to participate.
  2. Guilds that have 80M GP are allowed to participate, and we project will be able to earn 1, possibly 2 stars.
  3. Guilds that are easily completing (48 Stars) Hoth DSTB are projected to earn 20-24 stars (this means the top guilds).
  4. Our recommendation is for Guilds at 140-160M to take on the challenge of Geonosis (10-14 Stars).
  5. They also wanted us to inform you that the special missions on Geonosis have a minimum power requirement of 16,500 power.

Again, these are only projections and your experience may vary.

REWARDS
Now that you have some context about the difficulty over time, let’s talk rewards. You’ll be able to see the full rewards in the game soon, but here’s a table that shows the rewards at early, middle and late levels of completion:

Caveat: these rewards are still being tuned and may be different when the new content launches.

It’s worth noting that the rewards for completing roughly half of Separatist Might is worth more than what you would receive for beating all of Hoth DSTB, so there is an incentive to move up when it makes sense for your guild.
