My abysmal gear drop rate......

I'm not sure if it is because my roster has expanded so much in the last few months or if this is something devs are purposely trying to exploit for money, but the gear crunch has gotten out of control. We all know this and tbh I have found myself spending money on the game this year. I have decided to go ahead and make a thread outlining my gear farming woes. From now on each time I farm gear I will post the results below. This may get mundane but if I don't have a place to vent I might just give up entirely.....

Don't, just don't! I mean, no money. Why? They don't deserve it. Playing for 3 months and I'm playing for past time, don't wanna make a career in this or another mobile game, don't wanna have a better roster quicker, I just take things as they come. They don't deserve money imo because you get pixels on a screen for it, because if you ask a dev why from 60 cantina Sims you get 2 shards of even worse 0(zero) they will tell you it's bad luck ROFL, because the mechanics, skills are not explained sufficient enough for a game from such a huge company and are FULL of bugs, because because and so on. I've seen better help sections in noname games, much much better. Don't give them anything till they really deserve it.

Non-transparent %s. Terrible drop rates. No hard cap or guaranteed drop after a while etc. Awful, awful awful.

0/30+ on MK3 holos this morning.

This game is competitive by nature.

A bad drop rate is a bad drop rate for everyone. The people you're competing against for Arena spots have the same bad drop rate.

Except for the people that don't really see a bad drop rate.

This. Some of us were preselected to have great drop rates. Some are given better drop rates for being nice on the forums. #blessed.

Confirmation bias seems like the most likely cause of perceived differences in drop rates between accounts. Some accounts being "blessed" and others "cursed" seems much less likely.

I personally have gone 0/20 on some runs and 12/20 on others. That is the way statistics with small sample sizes work... and all of us are operating under the same conditions.

This is why I'm making this thread. I'm not just going to post my bad days, I'm going to post every gear run from here on out. This will provide a sample of one player's gear drops for every new player to see.

It's casino psychology 101. If you can't deal with %s then you should play a purely skill based game. Perhaps you like chess or wifle ball? The point is, don't put a coin in the slot machine and then get angry because you got nothing out of it. You know what the casino employees will tell you? They'll say, "Hey you pays your money, you takes your chances buddy" and they'll be correct. Nobody is forcing you to play the game. Suck it up like an adult and distract yourself by watching clips of cats on YouTube

Ok, then if you don't really care, why come to the forum and complain about it? Nobody cares about the disastrous gear/shards drop rates, except for the players of course. If they cared, they would've built a system like in Hoda, where the drops are fair, or a system energy free.
Now, for every post complaining about drop rates, and I've seen quite a bunch since I visit this forum, there are a few thousand players behind it who don't complain, some of them ditch the game, others continue playing it and take it as it is, a game amongst other hundreds of mobile games. Complaining doesn't solve the issue, neither spending money on a system that's built exactly for grabbing money.

Maybe it's you who deserves your fate, till you learn to look at things with a critical eye.

to the OP, but you're the reason why the drop rate will remain abysmal. You have a larger roster, so need more gear. Low drop rate apparently resulted in you spending money this year....

what's the incentive for the company to up the drop rate? if they do that, you spend less money.

once you spent some money, you've moved up your expectations as to how long you'll need to gear or complete a toon or a team. Now you're even more incentivized to keep up this new, higher, paid rate of max'ing a toon. Same psychology as why people rarely quit when they're on a winning streak 'cause they just assume it'll continue.

I'm not blaming you by any means, 'cause how you play the game doesn't affect anyone else. I'm just saying, no amount of posts about the low drop rate will change the game company's mind UNLESS everyone had the discipline to not spend on such atrocious drop rates

I'm not doing this in an attempt to get ea to cage drop rates. I specifically said this is for newer players to get an idea of what the gear grind will be like at higher levels so they can adjust their gearing strategy. Had I known better when I first started I would not have wasted valuable gear or Talia or jc just to name a couple. You guys are projecting entirely too much
