Simple: The Cantina energy should be separated from mod energy.
The mod energy timer, with its own refresh rate, allows the option to purchase more mod energy and tickets with basic crystals. Furthermore, mod energy can be used to access mod challenges and completion of the challenges rewards the victor with mod tokens/credits. These particular type of credits/tokens can be used in the mod shipments and will not put a strain on normal credits.
Cantina energy spent does not count towards daily either ..no reason for there not to be a new energy type for a new table/system

Just checked today, Cantina energy used to obtain mods contribute to Sunday's Daily. However, you are forced to do 3 Cantina Battles if you want the Omega daily.
Instead of introducing a new energy source for mod energy.. Why not doubling the amount of Cantina Energy for all players ?
For example a regular players maxed out Cantina Energy is 160 after 24 hours why not making it 320 Cantina Energy instead and etc.. This can be very useful as well as can account for the players who wants to do the normal cantina missions as well as the mod missions
Reduce the time it takes to get cantina energy back, put it on the same timer as normal energy... or when you get the bouns energy throughout the day you can decide if you want normal energy or cantina energy
Yeah. I'd love to try to score some arrow mods, but a 33 percent chance at a 33 percent chance at a 17 percent chance is too ridiculously low for me to spend cantina energy on.
I'll stick with the mods I got in the beginning and basically pretend mods don't exist going forward.
