Should I unlock and possible farm Shoretrooper through shipments with crystals?

I'm a level 74 and for me to farm him on light side hard I have to be 82. And I want to get my hands on Shoretrooper.
I was wondering if it would be smart to farm him from shipments with crystals.
Any recommendations?

That's what I did, left him at 5 stars though. I'll do this with Sith Assassin/Trooper as well.

I would say yes, unless you are in my shard then I would say no.

If you run an Empire team or an EP lead, a Shoretrooper will be extremely useful. He's one of my most dependable arena squad members

I'd say definitely no.

Baze is the same price and has 1 hard node now like ST and Baze is in every way better than ST except on an Empire team. Those are dead though unless you started recently and are still going through the Wiggs/STH/EP stage.

Go after Baze instead and farm chirrut from fleet

I did shore up to 4* that way and don't regret it at all, now I'm doing the same thing for baze who is a little better.
