Zero damage in raids?

How is it done? I see where guilds enforce a period for everyone to get on the board with zero damage. But how? Are you sacraficing a weak 7 star toon and just ensuring it doesn't hit the main boss before dying?

Basically yes, but you get damage even if its not on the boss.

If its rancor hit a guard and die... id its aat hit anything but gg and die.. you will register zero dmg
