Gear that only boosts TAC, AGI and STR?

Something is puzzling me.

Some gear, like MK8 BioTech Implant only grants a very small boost to primary stats like TAC, AGI and STR. - Are they worth the cost?

Gear like MK7 Nubian Security Scanner gives 10% potency - I can evaluate the value of that quite easily. I have a harder time with the more indirect boosts from improving primary stats.

It seems better to save the gear for getting other toons to gear XI.

I have stopped upgrading my toons at gear level XI with those kinds of gear - is that a mistake? Will a gear XI Vader benefit notably from MK8 BioTech Implant (just to have an example)?

You can look in your character stats what skills are boosted when AGI, STR and TAC are improved. I don't know the exact way if goes into armour, special damage as well as physical and special critical, what I do know though is that a 1 point increase in strength leads to exactly +18 health, so the mk8 implant will give the toon 648 health.

For physical damage the increase is somewhere between 1 and 1.5 for each one-point increase in the main stat
