Vader DoT heal with Nihilus?

Technically, DoT counts as damage to the enemy. So, shouldn't Vader's DoT be healing him as a health steal when under Nihilus lead?

I've never seen any health transfer.

Would this make sense? It would be like an insurance policy with Zader.

DOTs aren't health steal, it's damaging them by the effect, not by an attack.

    I guess that makes sense.

Right. It's not Vader that does the damage, it's the effect, even though he landed it. Otherwise it would effect him not just under Nihilus lead, as he already has health steal from gear.

It's also why you see sometimes in raids the total damage exceeds the sum of the damage done by characters. It's from things like dots and expose. A guildie posted a picture of their raid damage with Zader, and there was over 1.2 million done outside of character damage.

There should be a "commission" for applying the effect. That would be awesome!

The commission is landing a solid culling blade. A hit for 30k can restore his health completely.

Bounty Hunter's Resolve doesn't renew from Fett's dots killing an enemy, either.

Seems that after dots are applied, the game ceases to credit any of the subsequent dot damage to the character who applied the dots. Maybe as a general policy. But I'm not sure if anybody has ever really examined that and found out whether all characters obey that rule, or if there are any who violate it.

That's correct. Once debuffed, the game has no history of who debuffed them. DoT damage does not credit the character who applied it.
