Raid ranking

Can anyone tell me how the raid ranking works?

So our guild does a 24 hr tag rule. From there it places people in an order even though we all have 0 for our score. How does the computer decide how those are placed with everyone having a 0 score?

I know it doesn't matter in the end but always have been curious as what system the computer is using to do so.

It used to be by player ID; now it is random.

Every raid you get a random position. Always a surprise which spot you get if everyone has the same score
