Didn't they give us 80 shards for free not too long ago? He has 2 cantina nodes and a regular node. Plus hes in guild shop! Good luck man, you knew this day was coming for awhile, you can't blame anyone but yourself if you dont have him.
Daily login shards are more an help for newer players (who couldn't possibly compete in this iteration of Hero's Journey). Likewise, more than half of the login characters of the last year have feature characters present in the game since launch (or close) who got a rework - many veteran players already had those seven-starred.
