Positive and negative status simultaneously

Noticed this in an arena battle just now.
Shouldn't the tenacity down negate the tenacity up on GK? Perhaps the effect is still the same but it looked a bit strange to me, had not seen this before.

Basically, they are cancelling each other out, previously, ten down would display over ten up, that was corrected recently. So with both applied, that char has normal chances to resist a debuff,

The effect is the same but it is important to display both as they may have differing duration, and one may get dispelled/cleansed before the other.

Ah, that makes sense. I guess I always assumed a tenacity down would dispell a tenacity up, and the other way round.
