Game restart popped while doing Combat Mission, took my toons

I picked characters to do Combat Mission. It didn't even let me enter the battle, game popped Error 104 and forced restart. After that, mission and characters were no longer avaliable.

What is going on with this game??

So it's my fault that instead of playing the game I should be scrolling forums for 3 hours to make sure that my characters won't get deleted for no reason? Nice game, EA!
