Galactic power and gear upgrade

When upgrading gear we can see that character's stats are highly increasing. But no character's power is not increasing. Why? I think it's not correct. When we put gear or upgrade character's abilties we can see that character's power increases. So it must happen when we upgrade gear level as character's stats are increasing. In the old galactic power scheme gear upgrade was increasing character's power.

It's a bug.. ur char power not goes update live after ur upgrade. Swipe ur screen to next/previous char, then return to ur char.. there, increase in char power.

Huh? Upgrading gear level (as in clicking the button to go from 7 to 8) doesn't increase GP. Only adding actual gear pieces increases it. GP isn't based on stats anymore.
