What Happens When this Happens?!?

I currently have 4* Mace Windu. I was thinking of purchasing the Jedi Starter Bundle which includes Mace Windu. Will he turn into shards or will be just be a waste of money. Also what Does F2P and all those abbreviations mean.

If you already have Mace unlocked and active, you get 32 shards of his rather than the 80 you would have gotten if you didn't have him yet. Yes, this sucks.
F2P = "free to play", players who don't pay for the game. P2P = "pay to play" which includes anyone from the guy who spent only $5 to people who spend thousands.
