A notification on my phone means I get no credit in TB?

So as I am battling in TB. Then the same time I am trying to read the elite skill in a battle a notification pops up as I am trying to press down on the icon. The phone interpreted this to mean go to the news app for the headline notification.
I immediately returned to the game. To see the Disney & Capital Games logo as the game restarts.
I didn’t even grt credit for the completed waves.
So is this WAI!!!!!!!!

@CG_Kozispoon , I know the importance why cannot we retreat in TB missions, but it seems this created too much problems, issues.

This has happened to me 3 times. When not in TB missions GOH does not restart and when in any other battle, the battle just pauses.
