Why did Poe beat my Old Ben

Quick question. I have a 5* VII Old Ben that didn't get to go until after opposing team's Poe. I had 7* QGJ as lead. Is it because my QGJ has only +21 speed instead of +23, because Ben was only 5*, or what ? I notice that none of the gear from VII - VIII will give Ben any more speed. Thanks in advance for the tips.

Poe has 142 speed. Maxed Old Ben, let alone yours, has 112 speed. No chance to go before a max Poe even with QGJ lead, so not sure why you were under the impression it would. Also, Star level does not affect speed, and while Ben may not get any speed from items when working towards VIII, it is likely(i dont know for sure, dont have him) that after getting gear VIII, some items in the next array will give him speed.
