Need Some Phoenix Squad Advice

I've been grinding to get Phoenix squad ready for the next Thrawn event. I left Sabine off the team, because she's harder to farm. I've been testing out the team in Galactic War, and it does surprisingly well. It's a very fast and tank-y team, but it hits like a wet noodle. I've only get everyone up to Gear VII - do they start to hit harder once they're properly geared up? Or is there a magic mod combo some of you use to boost their damage to acceptable levels?

TLDR Version: What's the best strategy and mod set-up for a Phoenix Squad that doesn't use Sabine Wren?

    All level 85, swap your arena mods on them. Omega their uniques, especially Kanan’s. Potency mods on Zeb cos you’d wanna stun Thrawn on his basic. Speed mods on chopper. Crit damage and crit chance on ezra cos he’s your best bet put some damage in. Alternate taunts between kanan and chopper to keep the rest alive. That’s about it. You might need a few tries but you’ll get him eventually. Good luck!

    Probably chopper. But he keeps the others alive longer, maybe just enough to finish off thrawn. Sabines unique is just okay. But if you have Sabine instead, then gear her up. Same concept as other attackers - the higher their gears, the harder they hit

    Phoenix Squad can do some damage, but they are better as the battle lasts longer. Ezra's unique will give them all +40% offense after 4 rounds. Having Chopper attack more often can start to stack buffs on your team and *Reduce cooldowns*
    They gain turn meter when they use a special ability (20% gain or 40% if not at full health)
    Ezra's buff cleansing ability is great when used on enemy that isn't buffed. When you do that it gives him 50% turn meter. (70% - 90% actual gain because of Hera's special mentioned above)
    And you can then very quickly use his other special which calls assist
    As great as his assist calling ability works with zeb, consider using it with chopper sometimes (buff and Cooldown chances) or Hera (Expose)
    Zebs basic attack immediately will stun if the enemy is already dazed OR exposed OR staggered.
    Zebs third ability can give retribution if used on a character that has a debuff (Again works great with chopper and Hera)
    Kanan's unique is tremendous in GW. The counter 70% and more importantly 25% health heal when hit with any debuff.

    Phoenix also does great in GW if you swap Chopper for a fast Yoda. The protection up when placed on him can be shared with entire team. And when finishing a node any protection up converts to protection (Not to exceed 100%).

    Watch them on auto battle (you will get very stressed as you see one of them often nearly die only to have your entire team at 100% health and protection at end of fight.)
