Expensive character shards

I just spent 1299 crystals to buy mother talzin shards. I can expect to get from 5-330 shards for 1299 crystals. So I bought some crystals and bought the pack. And SURPRISE: I was "awarded" with 5 shards. For 1299 crystals!? All the other times I spent 1299 crystals, the same thing happened, so I think I must be out of "bad rolls"..?

No crystals are best spent on gear/energy refreshes imho
But here's some stats for you to ponder
The gamble pack at 1300 crystals if your lucky will take about 40 pulls to seven star or 53k crystals which is 340 dollars but these packs only last a month so you'll only get a few pulls with just arena shards
Premium shipments are a little better at 80 crystals a shard so it's 23k to 7* 150$ but you can use your arena shards to slowly buy these cause they will likely last a little while and you might need them for future events cough cough vets for Rey cough
And reg shipments are really farmable else where mostly so I shy away from those but for the single hard node people 50 Crystal shard price is equivalent to refreshing the node and energy for more shards

I am with TiredanddirtySoldier on this. Bundles paid for with cash are the only good option because you can decide whether the guaranteed drops are worth the money. Consider everything else as a trip to a casino. The house always wins, spend only what you have absolutely no better use for. Tempting as those colorful packs may be, they are in your face every time you open a free bronze data card. It is like having to walk through a donut shop before you get your coffee, standing in front of the display for ten minutes and then using a credit card to hide the true consequences.
IF you get excited when you are shopping, if you think you HAVE to have that purchase, DON’T. Close the game, go to uTube or Google Compulsive behavior and Video games. #Paid a high price

EA is a business, I love the graphics, the theme, the guilds, etc. Patience is more important than toons or gear, the forums have information on how to progress - read them instead of spending money that just gets you a huge unwieldy Galactic score you would need to be a millionaire, at least, with no other time commitments, to use to progress. Then every upgrade costs more, every game mode gets harder, requiring specific upgrades and gear you will not have time to use before squad specific events are over. There is a better way. Pick your favorite game modes, play the raids and events you can, join a guild. The guild will get you extra gear and shards, do your part and help them get Raid points. It is just a GAME.

It's a gamble. Which is illegal for people under 21 years in US and 18 years in EU. I really look forward seeing where this will go.

Its only gambling if you have a chance to lose, or get a zero. But gambling also comes with a chance to hit the jackpot, which makes it fun. Nobody has ever gotten 330 shards, or even more than 10 really, so this form of gambling is not fun at all.
