(Opinions) - Is cantina farming actually difficult/time consuming?

I have been playing for ages and have all characters unlocked except the newbies like starck and wampa. I noticed while going through all the LS/DS and cantina nodes that an alarming amount of the characters that arent finished are in cantina.

Until now I always looked at cantina as a great place to put characters as it is easier to farm than some other places, But looking at the stats it looks like cantina is the worst spot for me somehow lol. It used to be that LS/DS hard nodes were the worst but at this point in the game alot of those characters have farm spots in a store so it becomes easier. There are a select few that are still ONLY hard nodes so those still suck but I'm pretty surprised by my cantina progress.

Im assuming that its because of all the time spent farming mods, but I havent farmed mods in a long long time.

Anyone come to the same conclusion?

Cantina takes 1 month minimum to 7* someone on cantina nodes. Even more of you don’t spend shards to refresh and if they’re on the 16 energy nodes. So ya it takes awhile, but 1-2 months is a lot better than some characters farms.

I think the 16 energy cost is a little much but overall I'm happy with it. I'd prefer GW store though.

That's if you're looking at farming a single character. The nice thing about hard node farming is you can easily farm 5 or 6 characters at the same time, just hit their node each day. Sure it might take 4 or 5 months but they'll all be done around the same time. On the other hand cantina you can only do one at a time (I mean you don't have to, but doesn't make much sense to do them in parallel), so 5-6 characters could actually take longer depending on the energy of the node.

Yea, lots of characters keep getting pushed down the "to farm list" are farmable in cantina. Yet, when you really want a character from the cantina it's a relatively fast farm. That's the only reason i still like cantina farms eventhough i'm not getting any closer to finishing them all. The rate they add new characters in high energy nodes is way higher than i can actually farm them to 7*.

My issue with cantina farming is that there's just SO much necessary stuff in there. Right now I've gotta farm Finn, Vet han and Vet Chewie, AND captain han.

Cantina isn’t that hard (aside from unlocking the later nodes and 3*ing them) and definitely isn’t time consuming on a small scale. The problem is that they keep adding characters to Cantina nodes, even as increasingly more players finish buying every character in the cantina/arena/galactic war stores.

Like, at this rate, when a character is eventually added to the gw store I’ll be able to 7* it without actually doing any wars—I’ve just got that much currency saved.

The issue for me personally isn't so much Cantina, it's the fact they stuck a whole bunch of required ships and characters on single hard nodes. Personally, our guild has quite a few people who have what's required for LS TB, so that's cool with me and I can hit those nodes once per day. It's the other guilds that I look at and go, dang, that bites.

Once you focus on a list of Cantina characters you need and prioritize them, it gets easier. Just go start to finish, 7*, move on to the next. For those who don't have Finn AND the Viagra Brothers, man, that's going to be rough. May the force be with you.
    Meanwhile, down on the farm....

I'd say more aggrivating than anything else. The rng can be brutal at times. Which is fine if you can buy shards from shipments too. But a real pain when that's the only source of shards for that toon.

Well who knows how long it would take to get perfect mods, I'd say it's the most trivial based on that

This I assume plays a huge role in my issue here. More keep getting added before I can finish what Im currently working on. I also think that the cost of refresh plays into it being a little slower farm than I perceive it to be going in I guess.
I just expected to have most of the cantina characters maxed by now, and was shocking to see how much of what is left for me to work on is in cantina.

I don't even have all cantina characters unlocked. They are getting added to stores though, atleast some of them. Unfortunately the other items offered in those shops are worth more imo, so it's not speeding up my farms.
I don't ever expect to be done ingame, they're always quick with adding new stuff before i'm done getting the old stuff. Unless ofcourse we're talking about the arena, gw and cantina store. Those stores are considered too easy to place new toons in i guess ;)

Man, this thread has got me thinking.
I have no issue going 3*100 on cantina refreshes, yet i've never refreshed a hard node in my entire swgoh "carreer". I really must re-direct my dislike towards cantina instead of hard nodes it seems... hehe

Thats the conclusion Ive come to as well.. So many times I have said "oh thats good, the new character is in cantina so it wont be hard to farm", That hasn't panned out well for me so far lol

Too many important characters go to Cantina. How the heck am I supposed to farm mods when every event that comes out requires a panick farm from Cantina?

My main problem with the Cantina is that it uses the same energy as mod farming. I am way behind on mod farming, but I am grinding CHS for TB and then I have to grind Hera for Thrawn and TB.
