XP after Level Cap should unlock free energy the same as leveling

Of course we could come up with a thousand other ideas, but this just seems like the simplest thing to implement, since that mechanic exists in-game already: no new code (as such) and nothing new to explain to people.
I don't know, maybe the idea is that hitting the cap is supposed to slow you down so that others can catch you (somewhat) for PvP. Which would be fine if this were a PvP game, but there are only 5 PvP missions per day and more or less only one hour per day, so PvP is a small fraction of this game.

P.S. I would have been happy to put this in Feedback but I didn't see any place suitable.
